  1. make sure you're in surface mode, and try the brush presets on the right. They are much smoother than what you get by default by clicking on the brushes. its quite stunning, sometimes feels like its a different app
  2. also is there a way to put presets in the quick selection box?
  3. Generally ive been just using the brushes on the left and tweaking their settings, but now ive decided to try the presets, i think they where called "artmans brushes" before. and its all a bit confusing. They generally seem to be a lot nicer than the ones on the right which are the ones that are visible straight away and the first things i click on. Shouldn't these settings just be the default. specifically im looking at the flatten brush. night and day difference. and for some reason its using the rapid brush to achieve these results instead of the flatten tool... can anyone point to an explanation for this parallel system?
  4. I want to make some yeti kind of monster. maybe i'll find some time tomorrow.
  5. most definitly. I was always stupified by all the fanciness of interfaces with their round buttons and what not. I really hope this is just how its going to stay. Because the no.1 job of an interface is to get out of the way of the user. It just needs to deliver the content/functionality with the least amount of button presses, and in the most obvious way. so i absolutely love this simplification trend thats going on.
  6. i dunno what that guy is on about, but i can tell you that his tv will suck for desktop display and will get rainbow effect. because it doesnt support 4:4:4 color on the hdmi 2.0 port. on the right monitors. ( starting at 49" and the more expensive ones) you have a 10bit hdmi port (only one) which supports deep color. ie 4:4:4. 90% of ips monitors at 60hz. unless you buy the 144hz ones. But they cost waay more, and are only important if you game on at least a semi pro level. for work more than 60fps is overkill. i really think he has no idea what he is talking about... that tv can only display 120hz if it interpolates it itself. which makes everything lag.. read my post here for more info: http://3d-coat.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=17277

  13. ye, saw the trailer looks amazing! just waiting for them to add weapons
  14. ive used it for a couple of jobs and works great. In my reel the honda jet is rendered with it, rendered really fast, and gave really nice results with pretty much zero set up. did some comping in post, but otherwise im really impressed. also recently rendered something for a personal project flames where comped in, but the background was thea. and rendered really quick. Just love how fast you get full renders from thea.
  15. can anyone compare this with fusion? i saw fusion has editing features too.
  16. depending on where you are animating, in most packages you can use a cage to animate a character. So rig the cage, and have it affect a more detailed model.
  17. damn that pegasus thing looks awesome!
  18. thats a very detailed model. I feel like you have a background with some serious art skills
