  1. Figured I would ask. Is this still available?? Thanks, NM
  2. Ok, I am a little past the complete noob stage and want to add the 3DCPacks from the main page to my app and have a few questions before I do. Are they all compatible with the latest beta of 3D Coat? Can they be removed once they are installed and if so, how? Thanks, NM
  3. I restored all settings and all windows in preferences and I think that fixed it. Wish I would have thought of that sooner... NM
  4. Posted in the Forum Support Section http://3d-coat.com/forum/index.php?showforum=30
  5. I will check it out and see if I can post there what I did to make it crash. Tomorrow... Thanks, NM
  6. When I was learning the background image stuff I was able to consistently crash the app but I am a noob and we are usually the best beta testers. So in the future, even if it is a noob mistake, should we report it so an error handler can be added in the future? Thanks, NM
  7. I just figured it out a different way but left clicking vertical gradient is easier. I went to preferences and viewport and selected the vertical graidient from there. Thanks, NM
  8. Thanks Carlosan, I just found and watched this too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fiAO5uO2m7E#t=0 I was referring to the background image I added that filled the whole workspace background under Camera-Add Background Image. Probably was using the wrong method for a reference image. Thanks, NM p.s. I still can't figure out how to remove my background image but I now know how to add a reference image. I can restart the app and the background is still there. I guess I need to delete the xml file??
  9. I figured out how to add a background image so I have a reference to help me create a prop. I chose some images that were too large and tried to resize them but couldn't figure out how. I decided to undo the background image and ctrl-z does not undo it. How do you remove a background image? Thanks, NM
  10. I see when sculpting the model of the head it works on both sides of the face/head at once. How can I turn that on to do the same thing with a regular primitive? Thanks, NM
  11. Thanks again Candy Floss. I replied to the other post but figured I would make sure I addressed this one too. Great help.
  12. Candy-floss Kid, Your videos are excellent and provide exactly the info a noob needs to get off to a great start in 3D Coat. I have subscribed to you channel and will be busy watching all your 3D Coat videos today. Thank you very much. noobmeister
  13. Ok, another noob question. Sometimes I need a kickstart! On another thread I asked about my paintbrush looking like it had a texture that I didn't like the looks of. I was expecting a smooth shape when I sculpted using the MOVE tool in Voxel Sculpting and I got what looked like a jagged animal horn. So although I could turn up the resampling, it looked like a lot of extra weight in MB added. Then I thought maybe I am just using the wrong scale when I work? Like using the smallest sphere to start and zooming in on it. So I used a larger sphere and thing were much better. So my question: What is the best procedure to use in getting the proper scale for your object? For instance, if I want to make a pair of boots for an avatar should I just bring in the avatar and size using it as a size or scale example? Or, make the object large and scale it down to size for best resolution? Advice and suggestions anyone? I am a noob at this as I have only had it 5 days. And pretty new to 3D in general. Thanks, NM
