Curvature map problem (missing & jagged edges)
Slavq replied to Slavq's topic in SOS! If you need urgent help for 3DCoat
Thanks, I know, this model is far from perfect and it's only for problem demonstration purposes. As you can see in the bug report ( http://3d-coat.com/mantis/view.php?id=1954 ), other models also have this problem. I can't check it on my own right now (outside of my workstation), but as far as I remember, even a simple cube had this problem - some curvature edges were missing. -
Curvature map problem (missing & jagged edges)
Slavq replied to Slavq's topic in SOS! If you need urgent help for 3DCoat
Thanks, how do I confirm? Sorry if I misunderstood, never reported a bug there If I see correctly, in the bug report there is no info about edges without curvature at all ("No curvature edges" areas on my screenshot) -
I've made a few test meshes in Blender and all of them have the same problem - missing edges (seems random) in curvature map and jagged curvature edges: I've attached the mesh that I've used here, what's wrong with it? I've tried changing UV maps and nothing changed... I've also made a few different simple meshes like this one, and these missing curvature edges seem to appear random. testMesh.rar

Glitchy preview of smart material
Slavq replied to Slavq's topic in SOS! If you need urgent help for 3DCoat
Thanks, sadly in Orthographic mode PBR scene disappears (== no PBR preview), but it seems like a good workaround for previewing material when adjusting it's settings... -
It's the same even on default material (for example metal_rusty), so it's not my material's fault. I've attached the mesh that I've used here. TestMesh.rar

Hey, i just saw this: http://3d-coat.com/?id=109&list=singleimg&img_name=137762198694&img_type=1 And people say it's from automatic retopology! But i can't find any guides how to achieve effect like this. The most important is to keep hard edges hard - and these on the picture are really accurate! I will be grateful for some hints. Hard surface auto retopology is something that world really needs

Thanks, it worked - the another way is to tessalate (a lot) the LP mesh before importing to 3DCoat. But it's basically the same thing as Resampling

Hi! When i import my LP mesh into surface mode to sculpt some details on it, after merging (after hitting "Apply" and choosing e.g. LiveClay tool) it becomes like this (on the right): Is there a way to keep the sharp smoothing groups? Or to preserve original smoothing groups?
