  1. Hi there, here in EU (germany) it´s already Friday, 28th (7:42 in the morning)... when will the sale start? Cheers
  2. hi there, I know, I´ve asked somthing in this direction some time ago... but still I don´t know how to do it "right". I have some nice heightfield, generated in World Machine, saved as 16-bit .png file. The field is 2049bx2049 in resolution. Now, I want to import it into 3D Coat, to manipulate a few touches here and there, by hand. Then, I´d like to export it again to use it in other apps, like World Machine and Unity3D... How can I get a plane, that matches the resolution and "bake" the heightmap for export from 3D Coat? I saw some Mudbox tuts, I think this must be possible in 3DC, too! Any workflows/tutorial, here?! Best Regards
  3. ok, I missunderstood. I´ve found out how to load a stamp (loaded the heightmap, that I want to "sphere-project") - but what is the next step(s) ? Best Regards
  4. hmmm, nope I can not find the settings in your screenshot - seems I am missing some menus?! I want to displace a sphere with a heightfield.tif texture - so the stencil must wrap around the whole object...
  5. hey carlosan, yes that is a starting point - but I ´d like to "project" the heightmap on a sphere, to get a 360deg planet "spherical heightfield"... Any ideas?
  6. hello, I wonder, if there is a way to do something like a planet with/from a 16-bit heightmap (terrein from Word Machine or Terragen, Vue, etc) Maybe some function to project a heightmaps onto a dome or full sphere? "Displacing" the surface of a quad-ball? Has somebody already fouund out a workflow to do some planets (full or half dome)? Or is it not in the realm of 3DC? Cheers!
  7. Wow, that´s good news Thanks for reply, let´s see if I can wait till Xmas, hehehe Cheers
  8. hello, after testing a few things, and finish the 30-day-trail, I´d really like to buy a licence. The community is also impressive - seems great people are here and I get help and adive quick. I´ve heard, that there were some sales from time to time - is there one comming up the next time? Cheers!
  9. I can confirm, that it is indeed working - PNG and TIFF I did everything the same - except for the bump-thickness. This time I set it to 8 and tried 16, also - working ok. Guess "100" was a too high value, that causes the crash. Somewhere, I was suggested to use "100" (saw it on a screenshot over here: http://3d-coat.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=16544 ) - it worked without crashing, back in in beta.12 edit: see posting #3, it was by you, heheehe Cheers! /SOLVED - I guess...
  10. Hmmm, I can not tell, if my TIFF is "float".. only thing I know, it opens in PS and Win standard image viewer 100% ok, is 2048 by 2048 and 16-bit. Other image was a .PNG (512x512, also 16-bit)... I set the "bump thickness" to 100% and I am using no "Top Texture", other settings just like in your screenshot... I sended the crash-log via email to support cheers!
  11. I am sorry, but the problem persists in .14beta
  12. No, I downloaded and installed .13 beta a few days ago... edit: Wow, there is .14beta already (yesterday!) That´s fast iterating for just one main-programmer - respect! Ok, will test it this evening and report back (as always) Thanks for the heads-up
  13. "only trough blender as cycles" means: 3DC applink to blender, in blender render with cycles/LuxRenderer ? So nothing "direct" for now...
  14. What happend to http://3d-coat.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=11675 (LuxRenderer applink?)
  15. Does the applink VoidWorld (free version of NVil) <--> 3DC v4 work ok? Can not test it myself, as 30-day trail is over and the options in the menu are greyed out... Are there any things to keep in mind? Or does it work 100% in both directions?
  16. Bingo! That did the trick Thanks a ton /Solved
  17. ... also "auf einem Core" läuft das wohl immer, wenn´s abstürzt oder "ausgelastet" ist /Solved
  18. The problem is, I can not export anymore... got 3DC installed some time ago (was not aware of 30day-export-limits) and could free up some time last week - but too late, 30 day trial is over. But I´ll check, if your suggestion would help me. thanks!
