  1. For Pose tool: Ability to switch back from "Paint Select" to any other option goes away as soon as you select it. Have to restart program to get the dropdown menu back with "Line" as default.
  2. Here a bunch of characters I've worked over the holiday break, since I had some free time on my hands. It's been done partly in Cinema 4D and then extra detailed sculpted in 3DCoat, and then render in C4D using Cycles4D. I'll post future ones as I make em.
  3. I've notice that randomly (usually after I've been painting over objects I didn't want to because I just assumed they were ghosted) layers are no longer ghosted in both Sculpt room and Paint room. Finally I realized this was happening after I did a save, "CTRL S" but seems to happen also on "FILE-SAVE". But sometimes the objects are ghosted in view, but show as unghosted in the SculptTree window, and you have to click the ghost icon of the object a couple of times to get it back to normal, Once it will show both as ghost (object and icon) and second will restore both to Unghosted. Anyone else getting similar things happening on their end? Running V 4.9.17(GL64)
  4. Oh okay, I thought that was the last stable version. I guess I didn't read the page correct. Thanks!
  5. I'm trying to set up UVs for a low poly mesh, and when I do the whole seams and Unwrapping and such, once I go back to the Paint section I get this. I thought it might me my geometry, I've tried number of times eventually even just Auto Seams since I was tired of wasting time selecting seams. And still it turns into mess. I've even tried with some of the supplied geometry to see if that will work and after trying to make my own UVs on it it does a similar thing. It's as if it's old UV's and new ones are fighting or something? Running latest version 4.9.15
  6. That seems to have done the trick, I hear a little bleep of a pitch that also changes depending on zoom and such, but at least it's not constant. What is that? Should I be concerned with one of my components being faulty? Thanks on your very quick reply!
  7. Bit of an old post, but I'm experiencing similar issue. It seems to be only when I switch over to the "render" setup. And the tone of the pitch is different as I spin around or move closer to the objects in the scene. Very odd. I don't notice anything like that while in other 3D programs, Cinema 4D with different rendering options CPU and GPU. I can't really pinpoint where the sound is coming from exactly. Also just did a full update on my system, so everything is new (doesn't mean it's not a faulty part obviously) but wondering if anyone else has this similar issue or the OP figured out what it was and fixed it. Thanks!
  8. Yeah I am using the most up to date version, I did the "check for updates" under help to confirm. But thanks for that video, it showed me some things I didn't know, and maybe I can work around the little bug I have with the layers and such.
  9. I've noticed using the pose tool even with "Snap to angle" turned on, that I don't actually get a clean angled selection. More often than not it's angled and mirrored if I have symmetry turned on. This is in Orthographic view. Is there something I'm missing? I've tried turning Symmetry off and even doing snap to 90 degrees, sometimes it's close but still not 100% flat as I'd like it to be.
  10. I kind of figured a way to make his lab coat, probably not the best way but looks good enough! Here's the final render.
  11. Taking a drawing I did a bit back and making it in 3D, kinda stuck on near final bit, his lab coat, any suggestions on best way to approach this? I started using the Retopotology tool, but was having some strange stuff happen around his elbow and due to it not being symmetrical it was proving to be a problem. Should I just go on and get the repo to work, or is there another better option to add clothing onto a model? Thanks!
  12. I ended up splitting the legs at least, figured I had to when they wouldn't move independently. I think I'm finished with this guy for now, I'm leaving for vacation tomorrow and didn't want to leave it undone. It was my actual attempt into actually learning the program, I tried a few times but just got overwhelmed and frustrated, but I really wanted to push passed all that with this one. Now I know more and think I can move onto something different now that I know more, do things smarter. Thanks for all your input all!
  13. I don't think I'd go about animating it, just would like to do a fun pose and probably "call it a day". Currently I have multiple layers of voxel/surface objects, think it's best to keep them or merge them all into one to pose?
  14. Hey all, Still getting the hang of the program and sculpting as a whole, I'm fairly happy with the look of my character (aside from his hands, but those are the bane of my existence in 2D why wouldn't it be in 3D??) I'll still probably tweak things a bit more, but I was wondering what would be the best next step to take it more into a posable figure. Is it best to do repo work, then paint, and then just take to another program (for me Cinema4D) to give him (real) bones (comedy!) and pose and render in there? Any workflow suggestions would be great, and if there's any tutorials to follow for bits feel free to suggest. Thanks!
