  1. Hey all. Just wondering if in, Paint Room, there's a way to merge multiple paint layers at one time. IE: Photoshop style. Shift select layers wanted to merge, then just merge down. This would be great, not only for the speed of it but, also because if, say you have 10 layers of stacked pixels that make up clouds in a sky. Some of the upper layers might have layer blending modes like hard light or color dodge and if you have to merge those down one by one, it could really distort the look of colors from the non merged look but if you could merge them all down into one standard color blend mode, then theoretically, it should look exactly the same as long as there's no transparent pixels in the area of the hard light and color dodge layers when merged. At least, that's how it is in photoshop. If we can merge multiple selected layer (which I'm not certain if selecting multiple layers is even a capability of 3D coat, shift selecting doesn't do it) maybe can we freeze select in the example case, and copy the entire look like a screenshot up at full res and paste it all in a new layer? That's a bit of a work around- if it's possible.
  2. Hey Carlos, thanks man. Silly that I didn't try just lasso-ing a new freeze to add to the freeze selection. I just had in my mind that, that would deselect the current selection. But, yeah, it works great. Also, the cntrl click drag to remove areas from selection is excellent. I knew about the invert. Muchas gracias por todo su ayuda.
  3. Hey all. I searched but, didn't see this question asked yet. Is there a way of adding to the freeze selection you just made? Like in Photoshop with the lasso tool - you just hold shift to add a selection and alt to remove. That would be super useful for what I'm doing. Thanks in advance.
  4. ProblemwithPrj.mp4 Hello Pilgway. I need help here because this is an EXTREMELY important feature that I use 3d coat for. I need consistency with "edit projection in external editor" I need it to function with Photoshop without a hitch and I can't seem to get around this huge problem. On import back to 3d coat, t seems to clip every pixel that was not visible on screen before the "edit projection in external editor" command. I tried a bunch of different ways to resolve, I even tried to hide pixels to only show the image that was zoomed into and same result. Why is 3d coat deleting the rest of the image? I am on 4.9.43 Thanks in advance.
  5. I had the same question. I'm glad it was posted. Yeah, a bit of a "work around" and it would still look like an object's texture contains the layers in that folder. What would make sense, I think (and I'd like your feedback), is to have the layer's palette correspond with the UV (in the paint object's palette). So, say I import 2 objects into my 3D Coat scene from Max. For simplicity let's call them A and B. In the paint objects palette you see the objects: A and B As is now, if I import a PSD for A's UVs and another, separately for B's, in the layers palette, it gangs them all up into one long layer list, looking like they all belong to one object. That's a mess. Now, if you had a drop down option on the layers palette to select your object A or B, then we'd only see the layers that logically correspond to A or B. No confusion, no mess. Is that doable for Pilgway to implement? Example mock up: or I guess, even better:
  6. Hello again. I spoke to soon. So, I downloaded and tried the same thing on the same file in the newest version and here are the results: That layer "clouds big" is an opaque standard layer so in theory, (as is in photoshop) the layer 75 (hard light) should look exactly the same when it's merged down to "clouds big" . Is this something you all can fix? Do I submit a bug report?
  7. Thanks for checking that for me on the newest version. I really appreciate. Also, I'm really happy to hear that it's been addressed. I'll update. Otra ves, muchas gracias!
  8. Hey guys, I've yet to upgrade to .32 I'm still on 4.8.10 so maybe this is already resolved but, please let me know. I have the entire issue attached in a jpeg. Thanks so much!
  9. Thanks Carlos. I haven't tried it in more recent versions but, I downloaded the latest after you mentioned it and am looking forward to it! Thanks again.
  10. Hey Carlos. I would really like to use this function and I am trying it on version 4.8.10 and when I hit "tab" nothing happens. Que paso? I would love to have it like photoshop where tab hides all panels (just not the top drop down)
  11. I sent this to staff but wanted to see if anyone else is having similar issues: I have a license of 3d coat on my work computer and have not had issues but, I am working from home (sometimes I have to do that) and trying to open 3d coat via remote desktop and it says error. I need to be able to use it from home but it has to be via remote desktop sometimes due to network files, file management systems, etc. I know I could free the license and using the same license on my home computer but, do to what I mentioned, that's arduous. There are no other programs that I use including Photoshop and 3DS Max that have any problems using remote desktop. They all work fine. If anyone has had the same issue and has fixed it, I'd love to know. Thanks,Ramon This is all I get when opening 4.8.10 from home accessing my work computer:
  12. Sorry Carlos, I was AFK over the weekend. I have 4.8.10 was this issue fixed in the latest version?
  13. I don't know how 3dcoat made their default alphas, but, they are working correctly. This is the custom alpha I am using
  14. It should be totally white because that's my foreground color and the viewport is set to flat because, I am strictly working on painting color alone.
  15. Thanks for the quick response. I've seen the video but I tried deleting the contents from the depth layer and spec from the photoshop file and only kept the pixel info in the color and erase layers but, it still just a problematic.
  16. Hello, I am creating custom brushes in photoshop for use in 3Dcoat. I just need color and for some reason when I make the brush small, it creates some black and white lines when I am using white for the color. This problem only occurs when I'm using custom brush ( with my custom alpha). At brush size 24935 it looks good, no problems - all foreground color (as you'd expect) but, at brush size 20007, the problem begins to be seen and the smaller you make the brush, the more predominant the problem becomes. Looks like this is a bug. Is it?
