the "select all faces in this layer" button in the retopo objects looks a lot like the "increase resolution of the current object" in the voxtree. I sometimes click the latter by mistake while in retopo room. It can be disastrous if the resolution was already high, because it can freeze the whole system.

Doing some quick testing with Instant meshes. It appears that scene scale has to be 1, otherwise the mesh imports at the wrong scale in the retopo room. Apart from that, I think it's interesting. I tested with rounded edges, the instant mesh result looked like it couldn't work, I even did auto unwrap which never works right with autopo. It all looks very smooth in paint room and render room. I think this could have its uses, when you need something done in two minutes.

Sorry for bitching about this, I really love 3d-Coat, I do, I use it all day and all night as much as I can. I spend as little time as possible in other software to do things that 3dc doesn't.You get used to everything... There are some annoying things that don't bother me too much anymore after two years. One of them is the "paint object" window that doesn't remain docked each time you start up. Then there is the Grow tool which sometimes forgets which brush it has been assigned. "Type of surface" setting common to all "on plane" tools, so when you change for one it changes for the others. Dae export not reliable, Blender cycles assigning only some textures and not others ...To name the most bothersome for me. I can live with bugs like when the airbrush tools stopped working for a while, or the extrude tool that was quickly fixed. Now this.... Autopick by default on startup ? Really ? This could just be too much, I think I will go back to the previous version.

Hello there, It has been happening a few times now that after saving I lose all my voxels in the sculpt room. I am not sure yet what triggers it. I think every time it is long after having gone through all the steps of retopology and baking, and well into painting the lowpoly. At one point all the voxel layers in the sculpt room just become empty, only the layers that happened to be in surface mode remain. Sadly I only notice the next day when I try to load the file, and all the autosaves are the same by that time. Does anyone know something about this ? Thanks.

I once asked to be able to blend several layers at once... I think it was you AbnRanger who replied that "this doesn't exist in photoshop", then I was blocked from that section of the forums, thus could not reply, and shortly after locked out of Mantis. I didn't post here again for two years after that.

have you tried one of these two thing : 1. Go to the Bake menu > update paint mesh with retopo mesh (This will bring your retopo mesh to the paint room, therefore 3DC will have something to zoom on) 2. Go to the sculpt room and in the menu Geometry > "Retopo mesh > Sculpt mesh" Furthermore, I suggest acquiring a 3dConnexion Space Navigator.
