  1. Just found out, that my 'radius' was set to zero :/ ... sorry about this. Have a nice weekend everbody
  2. Hi everybody in the 3dcoat-team and congrats to the new release. Everything but one thing works fine here. The 'one thing' is the blob-command. It does not do anything at least on my machine. I test-started with a simple sphere and developed an object, then copied the layer and merged them after changing the position of the new object. I occurs to me, that this is may well be a 'twisted normal-bug'. I'm on Win 10 pro 64 bit, running the OpenGL-Version of 4.9.1. With the predecessor the 'blob-command' worked fine. Can you please have a look? Thanks for this piece of art (3d-coat) anyway ! Best Regards from Germany, Klaus
  3. Hi Polyxo, thanks for your thoughts on this anyway. May be this (link) led me to my ideas. "interactive volumetric reconstruction": Have a look. Even SketchUp offers importing of PointClouds in the near future. It seems an interesting field. http://extensions.sketchup.com/en/content/trimble-scan-explorer-extension I guess it might at least be worth keeping an eye on it. best regards Klaus
  4. Hello Apprentice, well - my way is - thinking about voxels as point-like building blocks/elements it came to my mind, that one might consider importing point-clouds as voxel-clouds. Like digital 'sinter-material' so to speak. The voxel-'fill'-tool has the properties that might fit here. I'm thinking of a slider, that lets us define gap-tolerance between the 'Point-voxel-elements' and by that 'fill' the gaps up and produce a nice solid object. The known meshing algorithms, like poison have a lot of drawbacks. Usually lots of details get lost. May be it was worth thinking about such an approach? What do you think? best regards klaus
  5. Hello Pilgway team, this is thought to be a suggestion. I just entered into the space of 3d-scanning and it came to my mind, that 3d-coat might be well prepared for the handling of point-clouds and all related stuff, like fusion of multiple scan-data and last not least proper mesh-generation from pointclouds. I guess 'retopology'-algorithms and 'pointcloud 2 mesh'-ones are somehow related? And since mesh-repair is also focused on in the latest releases of 3d-coat, it would be nice to be able to use 3d-coat in the scan>mesh-workflow as well. As I said - its a suggestion only, but there is an increasing number of people out there, who are not only getting involved with 3d-printing but also with 3d-scanning. Best regards and thx for giving us 3d-coat Klaus Middendorf
  6. Hello andrew and thanks a lot for 3d-coat again. I just installed the last beta and all of a sudden I did't have any shaders left available in the voxel-room. already tried to deinstall everything and reinstall (newest beta) again - no shaders left. I then reinstalled the previous beta and voila the shaders were back. just to let you know. (64bit win7 on intel quadcore, 8 gb ram, nvidia 240 gt) best klaus
  7. BUILD:3.5.2.0 OS:WIN 7 64 bit HARDWARE: intel quad-core / 8 GB RAM BUG DESCRIPTION: can't bring the curve tool to finish the object with 'enter' or 'apply' as mentioned in the manual. Tried every combination - no way. STEPS TO REPRODUCE: build an object (sphere or cube) under 'voxels'. start curve tool and begin drawing a curve-object, try to press apply or 'enter'. there is no reaction. Since I'm working with a WACOM-BAMBOO pen&touch, I tried to use a microsoft compatible mouse as well, however nothing changed. I really tried my best to read the manual carefully. best regards klaus
