  1. This may be the issue I'm having with 3d coat causing my laptop to shutdown even during retopo. I get the same problem when playing high end games. It causes my laptop to start draining power from the battery as it can't get enough from the plugged in power.
  2. Not sure if I understand what you are trying to do fully. Are the objs high poly or low poly? I think if you want to get uvs and textures off a high poly object from the sculpt room you would have to retopo the obj and bake them out. If you already have the obj you could import them as a retopo mesh so you don't have to redo it by hand. Then if you have separate pieces you can just stitch the retopo meshes together.
  3. Whoa thanks for the detailed response Tim learned a lot. Nice knowing the density you use as that's something I am still getting the hang of. 80 million.. whoa. I'll have to try amping up mine a lot more.
  4. Sculpting finished. Time for retopo. Learned a lot about 3d coat on this project so far and I love it.
  5. What would be the best way to add detail to the fabric in the sculpt room? For example a weaved pattern? I tried stenciling but it was hard to get it to line up cleanly around the model.
  6. Hey I've been working on the player character for the game I'm developing this week. Here's my progress so far:
  7. Thanks Tony it helped a bit, will just need to clean it up a bit. Better start saving more versions.
  8. That is epic! All sculpted in 3d coat? Would love to see more of your work
  9. Hey guys thanks for your response. I have the latest nvidia drivers for a GTX 970m. Running windows 8. I am using the steam 4.7 dx11 pro version. What does uncloseness off the mash mean?
  10. Hi not sure why but often when using surface mode my meshes will become corrupted. I think this example happened after using the cloth sim. I tried fixing the mesh but it just becomes a mess. So the only way to fix it is basically to go in and redo it after I already spent and hour working on it. Any idea if I can fix this or not? And what is causing it? Thanks!
