  1. No the lasso tool is not what I was looking for. Say I wanted to carve into the mesh six arcs. The radial symmetry tool allows me to cut once and have it repeated an additional five times however I have to have a steady hand and eyeball it to try and get a carve that follows the true arc curve of a circle of fixed radius. Currently the radius of the radial symmetry tool varies from the start to the end of the brush stroke.
  2. I must be missing something in your reply but how do I both rotate the 2D grid and draw at the same time?
  3. Is there a way to lock the radius of the radial symmetry whilst using a brush in the sculpt room? For example looking at the model in the Top down view where the circularity of the radial symmetry is visible I want to be able to lock the radius so that a brush stroke will follow the circumference. Is this possible?
  4. AbnRanger, thanks for those videos. The 2D Gizmo tutorial contained the information that I needed to know. Having the shift key assigned to constraining the axis of the tool line draw would enable a faster workflow in simple actions the flexibility and power of the 2d grid and snap is brilliant. Thanks again for those videos they were very helpful.
  5. Carlosan thanks for the reply but its not the kind of example I was referring to. I've been using 3D Coat for just over a week and I have been overdosing on tutorials so excuse the lack of detail in my question. I had selected the pose tool and was using a brush in stroke mode to draw a line to get a soft selection type of falloff but I couldn't find a way to ensure that the start and end points of the stroke were constrained to the same axis. See the attached picture - the right side image is an exaggerated example to help show what I mean.
  6. I tried it in 4.7.14 DX before and after deleting the Options.xml file as suggested and I'm still getting the same result. I'll report it as a bug.
  7. Did you try it and confirm that it is behaving the way I described? If so I will report it as a bug.
  8. I'm using 3D Coat version 4.7.12. I tried 3D Coat version 4.7.06 and the same issue with the clay tool was happening in the earlier version as well.
  9. The scale doesn't seem to be the issue as the clay tool works as expected except when using Ctrl. Also the other brushes such as the grow, airbrush, carve, build work fine with Ctrl.
  10. I have tired using the clay tool with a stencil to indent the pattern into a voxel cube and had it fail. If I paint onto the cube surface 3D Coat behaves as expected, it builds the surface up leaving the pattern in the cube. If however I hold Ctrl and just click onto the cube surface to indent the pattern the whole pattern is cut through the cube regardless of the depth setting for the brush. Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?
  11. How do you constrain the Pose tool line to a specific axis? I want to make sure the origin point and the end point are exactly in line on an axis.
  12. Hi everyone, My name is Shane and I have been using Blender for many years now as a hobbyist and freelancer. I'm new to 3D Coat which I bought primarily for the painting but I am really interested in the uv mapping and retopo features. Now to go and post my first question in the forums.
