  1. It certainly doesn't show! You seem like a completely at home in both videos. I always believe a great artist can work with whatever tools he is given though. You have inspired me to start doing a few more 3d sketches for fun which I may start recording. It is so nice to just create something without constraint or purpose but it is something I find I have less time to do at present. I first remember seeing your 2D work in ImagineFX ages ago. Looking forward to seeing more of your 3D stuff...
  2. I also bought a copy of Zbrush recently (mainly because of Zremesher) and really love the feel of some of the brushes and the insane levels of detail. I must admit that I still do not feel 'at home' in it yet though. I am so used to the 3D Coat workflow and navigation after years of use that I feel a bit lost sometimes.... Nice Beast! Time for me to give Sculptris another go I think. Do you prefer Sculptris over Zbrush?
  3. Hi John, I enjoyed the first head sculpt and was looking forward to checking this out too but the link seems to be broken. I prefer working in voxel mode too and would happily stay there for all eternity. It is just a shame about the crease brush as you say. I also would love the ability to move up and down through different detail levels like zbrush or some kind of simplistic base rig / skeleton for posing.
  4. Happy New Year everyone. My new years resolution is to make more time for sculpting!
  5. Thanks ajz3d. Hopefully this version will be much better. I am in the process of sticking him back in a proper T-pose as I want to retopo and pose him afterwards. I have been working on an iClone compatible rig for him and other characters. I did not even notice the palms. It brings to mind the phrase 'hands the size of hams' or 'hands like hams'. Always found the image that conjures up really funny. Not sure why.
  6. Thanks Brad, Cirri looks amazing! What is the deal with flexible funding on IndieGogo? If I back the project but you don't reach your goal, do I still get a copy of the software. P.S. I am quite confident you will reach your goal but just wanted to check as I have only used Kickstarter before.
  7. LOOKING NICE! It looks so clean and the harder edged objects are perfect. It almost doesn't look like a sculpt (in the best possible way) I am hoping I get a bit more time to work on mine soon. Xmas holidays yay! I really want it to be third time lucky and actually get a challenge finished for once. More WIPS coming soon.
  8. Hmm, sorry for bringing this program to your attention guys. I tried the demo and wasn't that impressed either. I think Makehuman is looking like a much better alternative for anyone wishing to create base meshes and its free...
  9. Holy Crap Phil! That looks good! That is a really dense pointcloud. If this works it will make my recently purchased 3D scanner redundant and make a lot of scanner manufacturers very worried.
  10. Nope, still on Windows 7 here. Too scared to upgrade and not a big fan of the new interface.
  11. It is plugged, in, the little green light is on, I have installed the update, restarted my machine and the Leap control panel is still saying it is not connected.
  12. Yes, very true. I plugged mine in and fired it up yesterday. It decided not to work at all. Maybe it is upset with me for leaving it all alone in a compartment in my laptop bag for so long...
  13. Nice find Phil! Mine has been gathering dust for a little while... I liked the idea of it from the beginning but found it a bit annoying to use. What is this 3D sculpting app on the horizon?
  14. Forget that last post. I was being a complete doofus! A little thing called liveclay does everything I need. I swear have a memory like a goldfish sometimes.
  15. I have switched to surface mode but I am finding it a little unpredictable. I actually prefer working in voxels. Is it possible to add new pieces (limbs / weapons) in surface mode without having to clean it up afterwards? Its busting my melon and killing my mojo. For some things surface seems faster but other things make me feel like I am fighting against it. I feel like I need to switch back to voxals but I am worried about killing the sculpt. Help!
  16. Amazing work going on here! I love the face Beat. She looks beautiful but tough kind of like Alicia Keys.. Here is a quickie from me. I have started out with symmetry on to get the details in place but will be turning it off soon enough. I also decided to construct Death Heads II from the inside out. I am creating the face beneath the mask first and sculpting the outer part as a separate object / accessory. (I have other plans for this dude once he is retoppoed.)
  17. Hey people, Just a quick 'heads up' for anyone who may be interested. Mixamo have released a character creation program called Fuse on Steam and it looks pretty interesting. Could be good for quickly creating unique base characters to bring in to 3D Coat and finish before uploading for rigging at Mixamo.com (or in your 3D package of choice). As a fuse user, you get 1 free autorig a week at Mixamo so it could be a sweet deal for some of us. http://store.steampowered.com/app/257400/?snr=1_4_4__106 What are your thoughts? It is 50% off until the 14th of November.
  18. Interesting character ajz3d. Good progress on the face. I look forward to seeing him develop.
  19. This looks really interesting. It may be awesome for modelling hard surface objects for 3D Printing. I have also pre-ordered a program called Uformia Mesh Up: http://www.uformia.com/products/mesh-up What are the advantages of using Groboto over voxel modelling and autopoing in 3D Coat?
  20. That was fast Beat! You are a frickin' machine! Looking awesome already. As it's community voting, you can win too can't you?
  21. Cool, I will see how I get on. I may try without symmetry just for the crack and extra man points. I will probably cave in though. Well done on winning the last challenge BTW.
