  1. I am trying to make skins for a game called Rust. This game requires 5 maps to import to make the skins look just like they did in 3D-Coat. I love this program so much, however, I cannot figure out why my maps do not look anything like they do in the 3D-Coat program. The game requires the maps be exported as .PNG. The required maps are as follows: Diffuse, Normal, Specular/Gloss, Occlusion, and if you want it, Emission..... Below is reference picture from in game as to what must be imported: ABOVE is how my mask looks in 3D-Coat. It is very basic, but I left it that way, because I am simply trying to test how to get it to show up in game just like that. However, half my maps like listed above show dull and or half of them are blank. I dont understand, as I am clearly selecting the proper texture maps to export as is required in the game, but apparently they are not the right ones. I beg of you for help. Here the mask looks almost like how I have it in 3D-Coat, but I honestly still don't understand why my Diffuse, Normal, and Spec/Gloss maps that are circled in red don't look like normal maps should. The Normal turned out all grey. The Diffuse doesn't even have color in it, but it should? Also, the Spec has all the color, but is shouldn't have color should it? I am still so new. Send me pics of what you think is best way for me to export the files I need in .PNG, so I can get the best affect out of my skins in game. THANK YOU! Lastly, I cant figure out since I have Metal, and roughness in my objects, How do I export those since I am only allowed to import Gloss/Spec map? Is there a way to get the metal/roughness to show in that map or any other map?
  2. My object when imported is laying along the X axis so turning it makes it really awkward. I want it to be set upright, like should be along the Y axis. Please help This is how I need the object to be imported. Facing me. (CORRECT WAY) (INCORRECT WAY) However, below is how it is imported in and I don't want it this way... I want it imported facing as is above.
  3. How to separate UV's into different paint objects, but keep them in the same UV Mesh as displaced on the right when painting. I need to export the UV mesh as one, but need to paint the two objects separately for the game I am making skins for. For example: I have the two objects combined into one mesh as I want. However, below that I only have one object to paint. When I try changing the UV mesh below I cant figure out how to keep them in same mesh and just make them into separate objects for painting. Please help.
  4. I am currently learning 3D-Coat so I can create skins for a game called Rust. The game has a workshop that allows you to download the .obj file of every item available in game. I understand very well now how to add textures to my .obj file/or material once its in the 3D-Coat program. All I do is paint textures and colors on the object. However, when I am done I cannot seem to figure out how to export all my textures required for my Rust skin to work. The file must be converted into .png. There are 5 .png textures that must be submitted into the workshop to make your skin come to life as you created it. Diffuse Map, Normal Map, Specular/Gloss Map, Occlusion Map, and Emissive Map. Those are the 5 files I need to convert my .obj file into .png. I am stuck though because there is NOT A SINGLE VIDEO on how to export files properly for newbies. I also have used the Export objects and Textures tab and that is confusing as hell. Can someone please tell me how to get the proper .png files needed to fulfill the look and desire that is need for this 5 .png files? I WOULD LOVE YOU FOREVER!
