When I use the Vox Layer tool I often get this type of display issue when pressing undo, or even after saving the scene. Often the whole frozen area disappears.
The biggest problem is that it's not just a display issue, but the disappeared frozen area parts are actually gone, so I can't create a vox layer anymore by pressing Apply in the Tool Options. This is quite frustrating when you've just spent ten minutes painting a detailed frozen area to be turned into a new layer.

You may think it's unnecessary. I often forget what icon is for what tool. Plus for new people they wouldn't know at all. We had this discussion when the icons were first added.
I remember a survey, I believe it was done by Autodesk, resulting in the conclusion that functions are most readable when displayed with both icon and function name.

I had the same question. It would be great if the unhidden parts are as sharp as the visible remaining parts after a Vox Hide in Voxel mode.
─ Edit: I read in an other thread that you can use the Split tool and set the Border Width (top of the screen) to 1.0. I'm OK with that as a workaround, although I'd still like to see the Vox Hide tool's Objectify Hidden Volumes yield a similar result without added bevels.

Blob uses just radius as thickness
Thanks Andrew. Why can't I use RMB to change the radius when the Blob tool is active, like with other brushes?

I've posted two possible issues here, thanks in advance for having a look:

Also, I can't get the Transform tool's 2-axis planar scale gizmos to become active for dragging when the layer is obscured by other layers:
It seems to work when the top-most layer of the visible layers is active...
... And when I orbit the scene orientation to view the bottom side of the gizmo, as if the 2-axis plane is only single-sided:

In 3DC 2022.03, brush and strength control using RMB doesn't seem to work when using the Blob tool. Can anyone confirm?
Or is this maybe related to the Blob tool not using regular brush stroke types?

Yes, that's great, thanks a lot, @Andrew Shpagin!
I'll adjust my Brush Analogies post.

Hi,
MagicaCSG is a nice 3D editor using Signed Distance Fields (SDF) for realtime blending of 3D shapes and colors. It can export a PLY file containing vertex colors.
I've tried importing a MagicaCSG-exported PLY with vertex colors into 3DCoat, but the colors don't show up in the Paint room. Am I doing something wrong, or are vertex colors not imported with a PLY file?
For info, links and demo videos of MagicaCSG, have a look at this thread at Blender Artists.
─ Edit:
Solved, thanks to help from @Silas Merlin :
For some reason PLY models with vertex colors exported from MagicaCSG / MagicaVoxel don't include the vertex colors when imported into 3DC, but if you export the same model as a PLY from Blender, it works.

I renamed docs folder and install. Everything works fine
It works here too, thanks!

Cool news about the first 2022 version, thanks! What's the best procedure to install it when you've already got 3DC 2021 installed? Deinstall 2021 and install 2022?

I would love to see this too.

I second that, @MatCreator. It'd be appreciated if you'd make a new post with your wishes, so there's a bigger chance the developers will notice.
I'd like to ask @Brenner the same regarding a proper Inflate / Deflate brush.

Welcome to the 3D Coat community!
You could try this first: check the FPS rate at the bottom left of the UI. If the FPS rate is high, go to Preferences ➔ Viewport, and check the box “Vertical synchronization”. The FPS rate should now significantly reduce. This is also very beneficial for working with high-polygon scenes.

Hey @Andrei Samardac! Nice to see you here. Learned a lot from your MoI 3D video tutorials.

I just talked with Andrew about this and said that the lattice should be centered on the selection by DEFAULT, rather than forcing the user to click a button to do it (FIT/DIRECTIONAL FIT)
It works correctly in 2021.97, thanks @Andrew Shpagin!

Many thanks, @Евгений! It works!

At around 16:50 in this video the creator activates Fill With Mesh Layer for a curve, then clicks on an item in the Splines panel to have the item follow the curve.
But when I try that, the old Curves tool gets activated and clicking on a Spline panel item doesn't make it follow the new curve type.
Can anyone help me out? Thanks!

Andrew just spent quite a bit of time improving the Auto-Retopo toolset in 3DCoat
Do you mean that the Autopo engine has been improved lately? Haven't tried that thoroughly since working with 4.x.

Merhaba @Koray,
Yes, my father came from Turkey and my mother was Dutch.
Having grown up in the Netherlands, I speak only very little Turkish.
Regards from the Netherlands, where a storm is raging over the country today.

Hi,
Autoremesher is an auto-retopology algorithm that is better than Instant Meshes. Autoremesher is also still actively being improved.
It would be great to have this in 3D-Coat:
https://github.com/huxingyi/autoremesher
Thanks in advance for considering this.

Here's a quick video from ZBrush so you get the idea. VERY handy in some cases.
Thanks @Hickz! Yes, Mike explains it very well.
In Blender the Falloff ➔ Projected option does the same, although it only works in screen space, while ZBrush also offers the option to choose an axis for the infinite brush influence.

@Brenner I agree, and I also really miss a deflate brush, or even better: an inflate brush that deflates when Control is held.
