  1. Good point Andrew, thanks for clarifying and have a great day.
  2. I just upgraded to the latest version and activated "AutoZipScenes" but it takes quite a while to compress the .3b file. Can someone from the team tweak the compression to "Fastest"? I used 7-ZIP to manually zip a file and when chaning the compression level from NORMAL to FASTEST it still gave me a good compression ratio (less than 5% difference in compressed file size) but the compression time was reduced by more than 50%. It's quite annoying to wait for the program to compress a simple file (less than 130MB, one simple object with several texture layers) and wait for 10 seconds No one would care about saving every now and then if 3D Coat would be a stable solution but we all know the thruth, right :P
  3. I might add this confusing error message that might be interesting for developers but I'm just an average Joe so please don't give me problems but solutions When I started in Admin mode and click 'load theme' it will default to the installation directory (C:/...) whereas the warning message clearly states that this path should be avoided due to permission issues...i don't get it. Why not defaulting to the User directory instead (even in Admin mode?) when trying to load custom presets...
  4. Thanks for helping out. To be honest, the behaviour is very inconsistent. When I start as Administrator it will load all Settings from Program directory (C:/...) whereas when I start it normally it will fall back to the users Documents folder...just guessing that might be the reason why it doesn't properly load the Presets. I put my theme file into the Optionpresets folder in both directories but it still reset's to the default layout. Are you sure the window layout is part of the Theme Preset???
  5. For anyone else who probably doesn't want to fully understand the difference between Theme, Layout, Workspace or wasting time reading through an old thread: If you want to persistently keep your custom window layout, after arranging everything to your liking go into Edit -> Preferences -> Theme and click the button Save Theme (bottom of the screen). Edit: Worked for 15 min, now it's reverted to the default layout (I'm using 3ds Max AppLink Plugin). Any ideas, @Carlosan?
  6. Hi, I wasted some time searching the interwebs on how to change the startup layout. I always have to go to Windows -> Restore Workspace. Can someone guide me into the right direction on how to change the default window setup/layout? Thank you and keep rocking* *random Pyrit done in 3D Coat just to make this thread more entertaining...
