[Bug] Export the colors of fusionned objects.
Omni-Moulage replied to Omni-Moulage's question in Questions & Answers
Hi, I thank you very much for considering my problem. Yes, renaming the layer was the solution, and everything is working correctly now. For the future, I think I will avoid changing the names of layers to prevent similar issues. Thank you again, and I wish you a happy Christmas! -
[Bug] Export the colors of fusionned objects.
Omni-Moulage replied to Omni-Moulage's question in Questions & Answers
sorry, I forgot the sharing rights, I think now it's ok: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1-APPVVrUEktXC-GIYLEcS67rNbhECM3u?usp=sharing -
Hi, I use 3DCOAT primarily for 3D modeling. I'd also like to use it for object mapping for use in animation software. However, I'm having a problem exporting colors on an object made in 3 fusionned parts. The object is a crank with three parts: a metallic part with worn paint, a screw, and a handle. I've included a video to illustrate my problem: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1-APPVVrUEktXC-GIYLEcS67rNbhECM3u?usp=drive_link Does is possible to show me the correct way to create a color map ?

Hello dear Oleg_Shapo, I have been using "3DCoat" for several years and I have 2 licenses purchased (for V4 and now the new version). So far I have never had a problem with this tool. I am not looking to make a mold but just to extrude with a slope as I have always done as for example when I need to fit 2 pieces as shown in this example: https://cults3d.com/fr/modèle-3d/gadget/boite-a-bonbons-halloween So I really like working with 3DCoat and I hope that this bas-relief creation tool will remain free. If not what would be the price? The name of this tool in French is : "Bas-Relief" and I use negative "angle de conicité"

3D printing in color
Omni-Moulage replied to Omni-Moulage's topic in New Releases, Bugs Reports & Development Discussion
Hello, First thank you for trying to help me and second I wish you a happy new year. I tried to use the autopoto tool but I never have a PNG file result when I export. The only way I found to get PNG files didn't convince me because I have a lot of PNG files and the 3D printer vendor only asks for one. what am I doing wrong in the following video? 2023-01-07 18-26-53.mkv -
3D printing in color
Omni-Moulage replied to Omni-Moulage's topic in New Releases, Bugs Reports & Development Discussion
Hello, Should I conclude that there is no possibility to export in color for 3D printing? -
Hello, Since the beginning of my use of 3DCoat, I only use the voxel and the 3D printing room for all my projects and I generally export ready-to-print objects to an OBJ or STL file. I have no idea how the other rooms work because I don't need them. (paint, UV, retopo, etc...) and because I can't see the colors. But today I need to send a 3D file to an external company in order to print something in color. The supplier asks me for 3 files in order to print in color: An OBJ file, a PNG and an MTL For this project I prepared a file with separate elements and just changed the color of each one from the shader tools using the requested RGB codes. But when I export I only have an OBJ and MTL file and the supplier can't print in color with that. I've read a lot of tutorials but now I'm completely lost and asking for help to find a correct way to just get the PNG file. Please how to export colored file?

[Feature] calculation result precision
Omni-Moulage replied to Omni-Moulage's topic in General 3DCoat
Hi Carlosan, what is it "Feaure" ? -

[Solved] How to stick a repeating pattern to a surface ?
Omni-Moulage replied to Omni-Moulage's topic in General 3DCoat
Ok Carlosan, Gizmo origin is the solution. From 3D Coat the gizmo is positionned at 0,0,0 But when I open it with 3Dbuilder it seems that it is at 0,4500,0. So I change the origin that inside 3D builder then save it. Now that work fine. Thank you -
Hello, In order to decorate an helmet I would like use repetive pattern with the tool "curve". But that works well for existing patterns and not for the new one I created. The problem is this new pattern doesn't stick on the surface of the helmet. I have several questions: Does the "Curve" tool is the correct way for that ? If not what will be the correct tool ? If yes what is wrong with my method ? And also how is possible to place the Red bubble of the curve tool at 0.00mm (front view) ? I have prepared an short video to show you my screen. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1M7ISdDOZc6OjGIsQlr_ILu8RhRzMNxoT/view?usp=sharing

Sometime I need to use a simple formula to define the size of something. For exemple if I want a diameter of 25mm of radius I type 50/2 and the result is 25 that is good. But if I type 77/3 the result is 25 that is not correct the expected result should be 25.666 What is the way to define the precision level ?

Memory issue exporting for printing
Omni-Moulage replied to Omni-Moulage's topic in CG & Hardware Discussion
Understood, it is clear. You are right because usually my 3D printers sizing my 3D models. In FDM printing process I have no problem of resolution because I print simples objects. But in SLA/DLP printing process it is another story. I request lot of resolution and to do that I have two choices: 1) Exporting in OBJ at 85% of reduction: the size of the 3D model is around 1 GO that is to big for my 3D printer/slicer 2) Exporting in STL, in this case the weight of the STL is always 18.55 MO that is perfect for my 3D printer/slicer. But it is not good for the resolution. The only way I found with STL exportation it is to reduce the layer value. But if I reduce it so much 3DCoat crashes. In order to not crashe 3DCoat, does is possible to predict what will be the minimal layer value according the size of the 3D model ? -
Hello, I just tried with the latest version 2021.81 but unfortunately I have the same problem. Maybe something is wrong with my computer because I also have a lot of memory crashes. (see my last post)

Thank you Yousung for this answer, Unfortunatly I tried this tool lot of time with complexe or simple 3D model but everytime 3DCoat crash without error message. I'm waiting another version before to continue. https://photos.app.goo.gl/kwWjYkbmoazLbSgB6

Hello, In order to help me to define the weight of resin or plaster I will use to create the mold or the model, does a tool exists to give us the volume of the 3D model made ? If not, is it possible to add it in a near futur ? (the volume will be give by 3Dcoat + the people give the density of material and the weight will appear directly, juste like other industrial CAD software)

Hi dear Carlosan, Yes I have send the crash reports several time. But it seems that I have never receive answer or perhaps something is wrong with my mail adress. I have just prepared a video to show the problem. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1YhJu9tC9pWq0BMpOgzOVR7tD8Dj_EWxE/view?usp=sharing
