  1. That work great after a bit of messing around. Is it possible to save the cloth out as a polygon mesh rather than having to convert it to Voxels first? I can't get the reset button work either, I kept having to choose default cloth, which meant I had to start all over again? Cheers Andy
  2. I've been trying to do a fairly simple thing and that is to drape some cloth over an object but without any success. Is it even possible to import an object done in Lightwave and drape cloth over it using the cloth tool? I've checked in this forum but can't see any similar threads. Cheers Andy
  3. Thanks, I think I've solved it, I needed to increase the smoothing amount. I didn't realise it needed to be as high, had it in my head that 10 was the max The image show circle and the edges are very good with the higher smoothing. Thanks
  4. However, I'm still having issues with contour, rectangle and circle..... The image shows contour.
  5. So scaling the brush is a problem? The left brush works great for big brushes but as you scale it down it becomes jaggy edged. I know this isn't the place to post this but while I'm here: I thought I would try this in 3DCoat DX but found that while a mesh would load it isn't being displayed - 3DCoat ver. 2.10.15. Thanks
  6. Here's a comparison screen grab between LW and 3DCoat. The black disk was done in Photoshop and looks fine in Lightwave but it imports badly into 3DCoat. The texture is 4500x4500 in size. I tried saving the texture out of 3DCoat and it looked like it does on my screen grab. So even textures done in Photoshop are being downgraded, when saving out of 3DCoat.
  7. Here I've used the lasso tool in Photoshop to trace over the image, even at a much lower resolution the result is much cleaner.
  8. Here is an example using the contour brush. The sphere is about 6 meters diameter, so it's not as if I'm zooming in too close.
  9. Here is a different import, this is from LW by the way. The sphere is just low poly for a test. I was trying to do some work on a low poly figure but the results are looking poor.
  10. Thanks Andrew but it does not seem to be any better. Here are the results from your suggestion.
  11. Being able to drag all of the pallets and tool bars onto another screen would be very handy indeed. This, for me, would solve the cluttered interface.
  12. It's been a while since I last used 3DCoat and I'm finding it hard to get a decent brush stroke. I'm not doing anything much except painting on a low res. sphere, what should I be loading the mesh in as so as to avoid these jagged edges? The attach image just used the Paint with Ellipse and the result is very crude, I don't get any better with other brush types.
  13. Yes it comes out of demo but then says trial with 14 days left, is this correct? Thanks
  14. Well I took a flyer and downloaded and installed and it's come up as 2.10f so that's OK. Cheers
  15. I've rather belatedly read through all the posts and didn't realise that a lot of people are having problems with the GL version. I have the DX version is running fine here so it is just the GL version that has the problems. I still don't know what version I should be on, there's mention of 2.10f on the opening page but when I select the link I get 3d-coat-2-10-beta1-upd.exe and no mention of 2.10f. I'm also only getting 14 day trial coming up and my serial number doesn't seem to be valid for this beta, so do we have to re-register or something? Thanks
