  1. Newest version Paint Room - Freeze tool, Create a new scene select Paint a UV mapped mesh, select a sphere default settings, paint a freeze area. Go to freeze menu select expand freeze area or try contract freeze area, neither of those give expected results, smooth does not work also. Tested older versions of 3d Coat bug is there too. Found posts about it from 5 Years ago in the forum and bug was confirmed back then. I've noticed this often, I find a bug in 3d Coat come to the forum and do a search and see it was reported literally years ago, confirmed and then never fixed. How does that occur?
  2. 3D-Coat 2021.36 Im getting a strange result in the paint room with the rectangle lasso. When I use the default sphere, front ortho view, ignore backfaces checked. I do a rectangle select across the sphere like this: And I get this: But if I use the default Cube, I get this: Seems like a bug.
  3. Im getting the same issue in 2021, once I resample the mesh in surface mode it starts to be ruff and unpredictable. Images: Standard large sphere surface mode, other is resampled up to 250k and the mesh looks and acts strange. Only occurs when hitting resample.
  4. Hi, Couple old bugs that have been around for a very long time in older versions. And are still in the latest version of 2021. When using the curved stroke, hovering over a point and right clicking no longer changes the point to sharp. Thats a really old one. And in the modeling and Retopo Rooms - Selecting a face and hitting the shell command deletes the entire mesh except the selected face, When I say shell command I'm speaking of the one in the selected section which is right below the intrude command.
  5. Hi, I noticed when I click on the Retopo Shell button in the Retopo Room the mesh just disappears then reappears when I click a new button. Tried it with faces selected first and without, same result.
  6. Hi, I got a crash using the latest version. Surface mode, 1.2 mil tris, draw brush with some spacing and Auto subdivide turned on using that little pill brush. Notice how it misses a draw every so often but still subdivides the surface, then it crashed when moving slowly in this circular motion. Testing on a older laptop, Asus I7-4700HQ ROG GTX 780m 24 gig ram, Windows 7
  7. Amazing job on the Smart Retopo Tool, works perfect. The knife in the retopo room is excellent as well, I like how it knows to connect a corner edge to make a quad when making a vertex in the center of a face, very slick. In the paint room, I can not get the curve stroke to paint, I see the percentage counting to 100 in the top left window but no paint is being applied. Also when using brush along curve or run brush along projection, when using Curves, no paint is being applied for those either. I was able to get one crash using the stitches tool in the sculpting room. I also noticed things got really slow when sculpting with the AirBrush.
  8. I tested on 3D Coat version 4.8.44 and the issue is not there. Thats oldest version I have.
  9. Hi, Yes the cube does have UV's, You can see the UV's in the image. I even turned on wireframe in texture editor so you can see the UV's. untitled.obj
  10. Hi Carlosan, I took some other screens which show the UV's and have better background contrast. It's not a seam as I am only painting across a face and not crossing seams. A simple way to test is just send the default blender cube over to coat and paint across a single face. Its happening on the normal map as well.
  11. Hi, I've been having issues in the paint room so I imported the default cube from blender and noticed strange lines showing up on faces. First Image I tested the default cube on older version of Coat ver. 4.8.44 and the issue is not there. Any help would be great, tested DX and GL version same issue. Thanks
  12. Hi, I'm working on some mobile assets and they require low res textures 512x512 and 256x256. I've been struggling with 3d coats paint room with these and I couldn't figure it out then it hit me, jaggy edges. What your seeing is a low res texture with lines done in Substance Painter, Photoshop and then 3DCoat. The difference is obvious, Ive tested different brushes, falloff settings, border widths and so on and 3d coat doesn't seem to have the level of anti aliasing that these other programs do. If there is a setting I'm missing please let me know, but as far as I can tell and by all the other posts over the years I found of people complaining about jagged edges, I'd say this is the problem right here. Any help would be great Thanks in advance.
  13. Hi Phil, They have a strokes tool as well called "Strokes" =) Which is like 3d Coats Stokes tools. Contours tool is very different when you use it, I have RetopoFlow 2 and you would be amazed at how fast contours is compared to "Strokes" tool. Plus 3d coats strokes tool fails most of the time on thin surfaces such as clothing by falling behind the clothing and becomes useless. That contours tool in retopoflow always rides on top no matter how thin the surface. PolyStrips is way different then the quad tool, they have the same Quads tool as 3dCoat they call PolyPen. Polystrips can draw out long strips of quads on a spline and be curved and edited in real time after being layed down.
  14. Check out RetopoFlow 2.0 for some ideas how the Retopo Room could be improved Video TimeStamps Contours Tool: 3:27 PolyStrips Tool: 6:25
