  1. indeed, Resetting my prefs did work. Thanks a lot! Just one note: The option to switch tablet settings to TabletPC seems to be missing in the preferences/general tab. I had to edit the prefs in order to get my tablet working again...
  2. Sorry for the delay, I was on vacation. I installed build 54 without luck. The problem is even worse than on the test file with my orignal work files. See attached video: 3DCoatSymmetryErrorRealData.3b_ - 3D-COAT 4.9.54(GL64) 2020-07-15 15-15-44.mp4 I attached the 3b file as well to this post. regards, t. 3DCoatSymmetryErrorRealData.rar
  3. Hi Andrew, I made some Screencaps in order to show the problem: https://1drv.ms/v/s!Aq7jih4QElkLtOUkUck5svIk2iHNcg?e=0NEDs9 https://1drv.ms/v/s!Aq7jih4QElkLtOUjUu-83OY6_A2IlA?e=jgJV9z I made a couple more vids in order to reproduce with different results, my findings are: - error amount seems to depend on the viewing angle when applying the type curve - after a couple of tries the complete type-curve tool went nuts producing only ****** when applying. So I restarted 3DCoat after this and after every following try. The two examples above were done after a fresh restart of the program - I had few tries where I could not see any error Compared to my real-World problems the videos above show somewhat mild results. Here is the problem on my current character model: https://1drv.ms/v/s!Aq7jih4QElkLtOUlENF_ldTDztg1bA?e=i4YHRc the scale of my model is quite small so it may depend on that. The UVs are perfectly symmetrical, I wrote a Photoshop script to compensate the error by mirroring the right part of the texture to the left. thanks, t. Edit: for me personally the text-tool problem is far less important than the one with the spline-tool. But those seem to have the same reasons....
  4. As I am currently working on a project where I have to texture lots of character props that have unique UVs though they are symmetrical I struggle with 3DCoat's symmetry feature. The Spline-Paint-Tool is very handy for painting clean strokes and supports the style I use on the chars. Unfortunately there seems to be a bug in conjunction with the symmetry function of 3DCoat that stresses my workflow a lot. Repro steps: create two boxes in voxel room, each with same distance from center axis: Drop those to Paint Room with AUTOPO: Enable Symmetry and start using Spline-Paint: Result on "source side": Result on opposite side: It looks like there is some strange twisting of the brush when painting the stroke. This is even more visible when using the text-Tool: Result on "source side": Result on opposite side: I would like to know if there any tips to make this work from my side or if there any plans to adress this issue. If you need further info I am eager to help. best regards t.
  5. Thanks for your efforts @Carlosan. I updated to 4.9.49 and found no difference so I tested around a bit. The amount of errors seem to depend a lot on the view angle when applying the spline. When projecting on the arms it works when viewing from above. But for the legs I found no angle which works. These shots are from projecting from the right side: I tested with a sphere and found the bug to be harder to reproduce but it is still here:
  6. update: right part is done with Splines and some manual painting. The left part is the unedited result of using symmetry.
  7. my russian language is not sufficient to read exactly what he said but I struggle with splines and symmetry as well. I am currently using Beta 4.9.45 but this happens with older betas as well.
