Hi Andrew,
I made some Screencaps in order to show the problem:
https://1drv.ms/v/s!Aq7jih4QElkLtOUkUck5svIk2iHNcg?e=0NEDs9
https://1drv.ms/v/s!Aq7jih4QElkLtOUjUu-83OY6_A2IlA?e=jgJV9z
I made a couple more vids in order to reproduce with different results, my findings are:
- error amount seems to depend on the viewing angle when applying the type curve
- after a couple of tries the complete type-curve tool went nuts producing only ****** when applying. So I restarted 3DCoat after this and after every following try. The two examples above were done after a fresh restart of the program
- I had few tries where I could not see any error
Compared to my real-World problems the videos above show somewhat mild results. Here is the problem on my current character model:
https://1drv.ms/v/s!Aq7jih4QElkLtOUlENF_ldTDztg1bA?e=i4YHRc
the scale of my model is quite small so it may depend on that. The UVs are perfectly symmetrical, I wrote a Photoshop script to compensate the error by mirroring the right part of the texture to the left.
thanks,
t.
Edit: for me personally the text-tool problem is far less important than the one with the spline-tool. But those seem to have the same reasons....
