  1. will 2023s plans be in 2024 instead or are they dropped now?
  2. for 3dcoat 2024 can we please dedicate some time to the surface mode ... maybe incorporate modelling tools inside the sculpt room , quad topology , the ability to remesh and have an edge flow that is destroyed , i would love to keep my workflow inside 3dcoat all the time , unfortunately i move between coat and zbrush ... i would love to use only one
  3. like the flat polish , its design was to work so that edges are preserved alot like scrap and Hpolish does ... this however has a tendency to take chunks out of the mesh an not keep and edge flow pose tool has certain features missing that you need to change for example the box select wont have a strength editor but line tool does ... do you need to edit it an then go back to box select but its only silly things ... nothing serious , nothing thats going to ruin anyones experience thats what i meant by it , the devs work super hard to work these kinks out ... just praying 2024 comes with surface mode quad topology
  4. i know.... freeze dont work with voxels , freeze messes up alot , meshes end up destroyed and unrepairable ... certain brushes give off wrong results ... alot of 3dcoat doesnt work properly but stick with these guys ... they offer perpetual licenses, they work super hard and are always engaging with the community .. they work through alot of bugs and prioritise the worst ... hopefully the team can fix alot of stability issues and focus on community wishes
  5. im curious have they said what will launch with 2024? i know 2022/2023 the ui was meant to have a revamp would like to see a rework of the paint room
  6. you don't need private tutoring , there are tons of great tutorials on youtube about the process of stylized assets .. loads .. ranging from greyscale blending up to base colour blocking creating inside voxel mode even though yes its possible 3dcoat voxels are best used to create the concept , you can also polish inside 3dC but i prefer blender of zbrush due to it keeping its topology if you still get stuck i can make you a quick video just showing a workflow inside 3dc and one thats fastest using 3dc an others
  7. also you could upload an obj and we could try for you and you can see the results an decide yourself ...
  8. could try closing holes and the voxelize it , that would connect the mesh , but you would need a high amount due to edge smoothing or jagged edges
  9. i love 3dc ... but this room is pointless ... same with the photogrammetry room too ...
  10. its because 3dc changes any topology into tris and you lose your good topology flow , they have said surface mode will be quads ,so hopefully sometime soon .. nothing worst than finding a good topology to add detail and then the software destroys it ... literally my only use zbrush is this .
  11. any idea when surface mode quad topology will be available ? i asked back in 2022 on pilgway youtube channel to get the reply soon and havent seen anything yet? being able to have solid quad topology that can be divide without the mesh being converted to tris is super imported to me , i do alot of hard surface and would love to be able to polish in 3dcoat and do all my work inside 3dc
  12. why would you want a refund? if this software isnt used daily! then youre doing something wrong ... ive completely stopped poly modelling since using 3dcoat ... explore more
  13. 3dcoat will instantly add tris ... its just how it is .. they said last year that quad support for surface mode would be coming.... hopefully soon ...
  14. imagine it like this .. 3DC piles lots of great features but once they are added they arent perfected .. for example the mesh to nurbs or nurbs modeller thing that nobody uses or will ever use was added ... but thats all its done ... the photogrammetry was added and no work will be done ... theres tons of modelling fixes we need .. tons of paint room features and bugs that need adding and fixing .. a ui that needs updating and simplifying .. sculpting bugs that weve had for many years .. but silver lining is they do fix it and do perfect some things .. they are a small team that currently work at home and they are providing a great product so stick with them ... they are trying
  15. i think nodes were meant to be added soon? maybe can get do something like a levels node or contrast?
  16. high poly sculpt -> retopo mesh , autopo is found by right clicking the sculpt tree menu of the mesh , once you have a retopo mesh then in the bake menu , update painting mesh with retopo mesh then inside painting room texture menu , baking tool then in edit theres ambient occlusion and curvature baking ... and if pilgway would be so kind as to hide more baking options we would approve lol once you get the hang of things its simple but the menus and ui is extremely messed up and nothing is as straight forward ... alot of us have been asking for a more simplified ui so hopefully it comes soon

  18. AWWWW hopefully ... they had a few updates like nurbs and things that really doesnt help alot of people so hopefully some of the above come around
  19. there use to be alot of interaction with developers and constant communication about upcoming features .. whats planned etc... 1 i dont see that anymore and 2 none of which has been implemented or any word of it happening specifically talking, new ui, new paint room (layers,masks etc) and quad surface mode.. are these still being worked on? the quad surface mode alone is the one thing i need most... topology is super important to me if i have a good topology then i want it to stay
  20. but at the same time .. whatever you make with them tools .. you could do it faster using the cut off tools or booleans ..,
  21. problem is i cant find any good tutorials on this tool either... so for me its just confusing , loft tools are great if they work so an improved version would be amazing
