  1. awwww exciting times!! i feel bad talking about development , its not because im unhappy.. im just over curious , the software is constantly changing and its exciting that i cant wait lol new ui would be amazing , i really feel like that would help so many others when starting out on this software
  2. yea i know should be amazing... but i was hoping the paintroom was getting attention , i heard in 2022 that the paintroom is being worked on but i havent heard anything, would be amazing if they had a roadmap of features being worked on so as a colelctive we could vote for would benefit us all the most
  3. nobody is saying we dont want proper topology, infact they confirmed on youtube that 3dc was getting quad topology in surface mode... but changing from tris to quads and then changing how multires works and how RES+ works takes time ... give them some time , they are working on paint room, modelling and sculpting as much as possible they arent a big team just support and hopefully the features turn up
  4. i love modeling inside 3dcoat, not using poly tools but the sculpting ones, its so fast and im not limited to my topology, but i was finding making shapes for cutting a bit slow, could we have some sort of curve-to flat mesh and then thicken it ... so we can draw out of copy a shape and then get volume into that shape , we can then cut using it
  5. i was curious because as im not a programmer , im not really caring for python, is there a way we vote or its discussed ? dont think that im truly hating on the new update as im not, i know alot of people out there will be able to create amazing things.. but i was hoping for some love with the paint room and a new ui...
  6. in the preferences you can send your layers to an external 2d editor... but i have multiple for different uses , instead of constantly changing it in preferences depending on what im working on , can we have multiple links and then an options in EDIT that allows us to send it to a specific 2s editor?
  7. what you can do if edit the projection into photoshop or clip studio and use their vast selection of brushes and keep changing between the two, process is slightly slower than being inside the 3dcoat but not much

  10. no, but what you can do is use a vox layer tool on an area you what to retopo, extrude with a small thickness and then autopo that area,
  11. Desktop 03-06-2023 23-07-51.mp4 the select tool isnt working properly, the change between vertices and edges should only affect the path eg connected vertices along an edge, but this just selects any edges associated with that vertex.
  12. the select tool in modelling and retopo has boxes above showing the selection type vertice,edge and face an auto depending on what one you select first
  13. no problem my side, after baking im still 700-800 fps can you make a video so i can recreate the steps..
  14. anyone else getting strange bakes? think the cage isnt working correctly.
  15. i dont know but im getting some funky bakes.... so im gonna test with painter and marmo and see if its 3dc
  16. i cant say ive ever used proxy mode, have you tried multires in surface mode?
  17. @Staglaitor I have no idea what you mean , can you record what it is in modo and i can say if its possible inside 3dc
  18. imagine the smart material preview like a mask tool , when you add a smart material , imagine its instantly added a black mask, with each stroke you add white ... its quite useful but its nowhere near SP , but 3dcoat has huge advantages elsewhere , hopefully the ui gets improvements .... its a little out dated now
  19. no only depth opacity , in surface mode, the rest are just universal for painting room etc.
