  1. I must say that I like the new interface and totally love the new tablet friendly navigation, very nice work.
  2. Strange, I don't have that problem at all. Are you sure you have the right pen selected? For me it works nice and smooth with the pen up in the right corner.
  3. I think you use a too low value so it's less then 1 voxel or something like that then it's not enough information to build a skin/shell without holes. (This is just speculation from my side, also remeber that the app is in alpha stage.)
  4. Skin extract works like a shell tool, it makes the sculpt hollow with a defined wall thickness. Extrude works about the same but doesn't make the model hollow. It adds thickness outwards of the model normals.
  5. I like the new transpose tool, but the new gizmo is not that nice. I can live with it, but I really liked the standard one that you had before that looked like a normal 3D app. Would be nice with a user option so you could switch between standard and non standard gizmo. The new gizmo is very slow to work with and as you have to switch between modes, really slow workflow. It was better before IMHO.
  6. Yeah, I know it's like maya and as you said you work in maya all day and like this setup. I work in Pro/Enigineer all day and zoom with scrollwheel and rotate with middle mouse button so I like that setup, but alt works. it's the same as Hypershot. I just like to be able to do most navigation and sculpting without touching the keyboard too much, I'm lazy.
  7. I like the RMB way of changing the brush size/depth(love that it's also works on smooth when you hold down shift) Now it would work with zoom with the scroll wheel, this could of course be a user option. I feel when working with the mouse that it's really nice if you can zoom with the scroll wheel and change the size/ depth with the RMB. One thin I like wiht Zbrush is that you can rotate the model with right mouse button if you are outside the model with the pointer, I don't know how, but it would be nice with a similar feature in 3DC, so you don't need to use the alt key everytime you want to navigate around your model. It could be something like this. LMB= Sculpt MMB= rotate model scrollwheel= zoom in/out RMB= brush size/depth
  8. Nice work! Love the quick and dirty style on the mouse.
  9. Yep, Looks the same in both.
  10. Here's how the lines looks on a sphere on my Geforce 6600GT
  11. Awesome work! Love them all, but mostly impressed by the last very detailed monster head, looks like a Zbrush/Mudbox model.
  12. I don't like the little arrow button on the side of example camera button. It looks like a separate button and acts like one but do the same thing as the actual camera button. I suggest that you combine them into one button with an arrow to show that it's a drop down menu under the button. This would go for every button like this in 3DCoat. Here's an example pic.
  13. I love that many tools has got a speed up, but the tool I use the most, the Clay tool, is unworkable it's got several times slower. It used to be one of the fastes tools now it's the slowest, why? I use the latest build on a PC.
  14. Yes, it's the link on the first page and yes, you can have two installs on one machine with one license, just don't use two 3D coat at the same time as that may put you in trouble(I'm not sure, maybe Andrew can anwser this). Love the new shaders, now if we only could get one with both shadows and ambient occlusion at the same time.
  15. maybe you can subdivide the voxels a some places where detail is needed.
  16. I also agree with you 3dioot. Don't rush to release 3.0 make it outstanding first, make the sculpting tools as fast and as good as they can be. I would like to see pens with different shapes work in voxel sculpting without converting to surface sculpting as draw with pen seems to do. Actually I would like all tools in voxel sculpting to just work on voxels and don't convert to surfaces and back as it works quite bad and make artifacts in the model. I also want the ability to increase resolution in a addaptive fashion so we can have higher resolution where there are alot of details an lower resolution where there are lesser details.
  17. Just tested the new clay and spray tools and all I can say is that they rock. Great work Andrew!
  18. Cool fish. I also wish I had patient to make something like this.
  19. I would love to see some tools to drag/modify the volumetric geometry and maybe an offset/shell tool so you can sculpt a shell with a specific thickness. And of course a way to set the resolution of the voxles in an interactive way with a +/- button/menu to step up and down in resolution. It could also be nice if we could mask off parts of a model so you can work with very high resolution without getting slowdowns in performance. This would make it possible to make genaral sculpts to the model in a lower resolution then mask off parts and increase the resolution to add more small details to that specific part of the model, when you are ready you can lower the resolution and show the whole model again, but the details is still there even if the don't show up in low resolutions. I hope it make sense, I'm thinking in the line of multires subdivision surfaces.
  20. the hack is really simple and works fine. just create a empty text file in the install folder and call it volume.dat, that's it. Now when you run 3DCoat GL version you have a cube at the bottom, this is volumetric sculpting. StereoMike: I just sculpted out long stripes and cut it off and leaved some pieces left in air. The nice thing about sculpting this way is that you are not limited by anything, just add or remove geometry as you whish.
