  1. Hey guys, Soft Booleans are super powerful. It would be great to have them in the Voxel toolset. I assume this would require to write new code as they'll probably need a completely different approach. I've done some tests in Houdini, combining and substracting VDBs, using Curvature, Groups and Attribute Blur. It works, but it is pretty slow. Is it because of performance issues that we don't have Soft Booleans in the Voxel toolset ? Thanks for the Awesome work guys. Stephane
  2. Hi tcwick, I've had a similar issue not long ago. It mostly happened after an undo when the tool was still active. A clean un-installation and re-installation of 3D Coat solved the issue in my case. I'm not sure if it was related to my config files or else. Back up your presets, preferences etc. and try to start afresh. Hope that helps.
  3. Hey, Just a quick one. I've noticed that when the viewport camera is set to 'isometric', the objects appear black in the render room. They also appear black in the sculpt room if 'Cast Shadows' is enabled. I'm not sure if it's due to the nature of the render engine, or if it's a bug. I just wanted to report this here as I couldn't find it mentioned on the forums. Maybe it'll help someone someday! Loving the new cloth tool by the way. Loads of fun. Awesome stuff guys.
  4. @Carlosan Thanks, and thanks for the relocate data tip. That's super useful.
  5. Solved. I've started the tests with a super clean install - after backing up my presets etc. And sure enough, that did the trick Somehow, updating the beta versions for a long while must have messed up the config files or something. So after uninstalling all the versions, deleting the 3D-Coat folder in the User Documents and re-installing it fresh, everything is back in order and The Pose Tool is behaving perfectly now - no more undo bug. [EDIT] Could the beta updates have somehow malfunctioned because I was using a Symbolic Link for my User Documents 3DCoat 4.9 folder, pointing to another drive in order to save space on the system disk? I can still reproduce the little U.I. bug - the one with the panels crawling up by themselves - but that's fine, it's a cute one. Cheers, Stef
  6. Interesting. I'm going to try to isolate the detail / combination of details that could be responsible. I'll keep you posted if I find a clue. Thanks for having a look at it earlier anyway.
  7. Thanks for the update Andrew. It has also solved the undo bug in the Pose Tool. [EDIT] Hmm.. nope. Actually it didn't! sorry. It has just happened again. Undo whilst using the Pose Tool on a voxel layer, can corrupt the layer with 4.9.28 [beta]
  8. @Carlosan Yes I am. I have captured both of them using 4.9.27 running the GL64 version. I run 3D Coat on a Razer Blade advanced that has a RTX 2080 Max Q. I'm using the latest Nvidia Studio drivers 442.19
  9. Hey, Here's a little U.I. bug that happens when you change a panel size by dragging its borders. Repro steps: Start dragging the Presets panel all the way up The panels will start to resize themselves without any way to stop them. Quick fix if that happens to you: Windows > Reset this page to defaults Here's a screen capture of this bug: 2020-03-07 12-50-20.mp4
  10. Hi there, For a while, I've noticed a bug on the Pose Tool in Voxel, when undoing whilst using it. Here are the repro steps: On a Voxel Layer, use the Pose Tool to select an area of the sculpt to deform. Deform the area with the Pose Tool - Translate, scale or rot. Undo the the deformation with the tool still active. This will corrupt the Layer. I've attached the screen capture. I hope this helps. Loving 4.9 and all the new features. Thanks for the awesome work guys. 2020-03-07 10-41-48.mp4
  11. I have the same issue. Voxel room is flickering with fullscreen white. Going from paint room to voxel room will crash 3D Coat systematically. Can't use this build. Macbook pro 15 inch early 2011 Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4 (11E53) 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 AMD Radeon HD 6750M 1024 MB
  12. Thanks for this release Andrew ! I'm on Mac, using the V35-19A. and I'm back with the specular issue : ) Painting with a specular of zero will not affect the specularity on the layers beneath. This would be very useful to paint the Dirt layer on a model. but I can't get it to work. Usually I have this type of layering for my models. Very useful for optimal changes and variations: 5 Dirt 4 Scratches / rust 3 Stickers 2 Main Paint 1 Bare Metal At the moment I have to do some intricate work around with masks and frozen areas. I'm sure you must have loads of work on your plate, it would be so amazingly great to have that sorted ! : ) Anyway, it's still a pleasure to paint the models of our game with 3D-COAT. Thanks for the hard work !
  13. Awesome work on the 3.5.18a It seems that the Specularity brightness issue is still not fixed on Mac though: - layer 1 filled with 100% spec - layer 2 Painting details with 0% spec won't do anything. Still have to work around it with masks. Continue the hard work Andrew, this is great !
  14. ok I just found out that autopo is triggered from the voxtree in the voxels area. that the wizard keeps the guides and density paint in memory. I did not understood that an imported Obj for Autopo is transformed in voxels. slowly but surely I'm starting to understand the workflow.
