  1. In the newsletter which NVidia sends out, 3DCoat gets mentioned : 3D-Coat Ships New 3D Art and Sculpting Package 3D-Coat is an innovative application providing an array of tools for 3D model sculpting, detailing and coloring. Featuring the NVIDIA GPU-Accelerated voxel sculpting technology, 3D-Coat V3 makes on-screen sculpting fluid and responsive. Download the trial version here » http://news.nvidia.com:8080/t/107508/9115394/4755/0/ (which goes to) http://uk.nzone.com/object/nzone_3dcoat_home_uk.html
  2. LOL - the old silo is trash vs silo was ok now its obsolete becuase of redsChild [jamchild]and [media]feed argument rears its head Always fun - but can i ask is 3DCoat a comparable modeller to Silo? I havent really delved much into 3DCoat - although I now have 8gigs of RAM as 3dCoat seems to be a major RAM gobbler, but 3DCoat seems to have a few modelling tools. Personally I don't need a large variety of modelling tools, so is 3DCoat adequate for most modelling needs?
  3. Looks like a barb to me. Perhaps the tool should be called barbie? lol
  4. This is the first I've heard about any of these people dying - and all in one week! Thanks for the post
  5. My models are all broken up into their different materials - is there some way i can have them welded for painting? currently they are separated and so become more rounded and separate even with 'no subdivision' selected on the import model menu. Also, is there some way i can set default map size for textures? My models all use 2048x2048 texture maps, but there seems to be no way i can set this as default - some models have 100s of texture maps.
  6. Another sub-menu of primitives would be great - if it were added to the paint/sculpt/retopo/UV/voxels/render tabs - this way you could build/sculpt/paint straight away.
  7. Its a model made out of many separated parts. I placed it above the grid so its feet were on top of the grid. As philnolan3d says, 3dc moved it back to the middle. I could get around it by grouping the object, and moving the group pivot to the base. I'm sending a copy of the .obj and .mtl file to andrew shpagin
  8. When importing .obj files, the grid seems to be placed in the vertical centre of the object, can it be placed at the base of the model? In other words - The model im exporting has its feet on the surface of the home grid, but importing into 3D coat moves the vertical position of the model so it is centred on the home grid
  9. Those are very nice images! Really imaginative
  10. Hmm, I've just installed the latest NVidia drivers. 3D-Coat 3 alpha version 48 doesnt work for me on windows xp64 (missing files) - but I expect Andrew will get on it I'm avoiding any separate CUDA installations for the moment

  12. Thanks Andrew for the update on this proggie. I haven't used version 3 much yet but it looks promising - incidentally I wouldn't take much notice of those who ask for a quick release of 3d coat 3 - I haven't found many games that actually use realtime voxels - heck even displacement mapping-centric games are a rarity; conversely the game Expendable (it looks like it uses some archaic Dungeon Siege engine(with glow)) written in 1999 features realtime bump mapping.
  13.  yeh or wait for OS XXXI - with 100% windows emulation no doubt
  14. It could be 2017, I'm not bothered while he keeps on uploading updates
  15. That blob is amazing! If you could paint bleach and acidic paint marks and cuts over it so it looked drippy and stained, that could be the new blob for the 3d coat logo (just a suggestion of course) [basically like a discarded artists jeans rolled into a ball-title 'ready to be washed']
