  1. Thank you for the video, ill try that option out.
  2. Wow thanks for the video tutorial it helps alot. i will take what you suggested but i think i’ll work on pieces separately and once its detailed and complete, then ill merge just to be safe. I also wasnt aware of 3Dcoat having an actual mannequin so thank you for showing that.
  3. Thanks ill make sure to ask if i have any other questions.
  4. So i dont currently have 3dcoat at the moment, ive been using nomad sculpt on the ipad and i ran into an issue that i was wondering if its an issue with all sculpting programs and specifically if 3dcoat has it. So i like to have an already posed singular base mesh to a similar style to zspheres. And basically using it as a skeleton to then build up the main body shapes. But when the meshes used for limbs like arms are close to other parts of the body like the torso. It becomes hard to sculpt without affecting both unintentionally, like with dragging parts and building up It will distort the areas that are too close. So im just wondering if 3dcoat has that problem and how to solve it if i wanted to sculpt for a specific pose that has body parts close together but without touching?
  5. Im very new to using 3Dcoat and im not entirely sure what or how to use things or even when to use tools. I want to create full body characters, mainly focus on anatomy and muscle like with superheros. Im not sure what tool i could use for a zsphere like armature. I prefer to have that base form first rather when sculpt from a sphere. I’d also prefer to create the armature myself rather then use a preset body. Im also not sure what brushes are best for building up and blocking out a body. And i need help as well with what brushes and tools work best for medium to high detail too. I see alot of brushes but im not sure whats best for what. I was also hoping to rely on voxel sculpting without the worry of the technical aspect as much as possible as well.
  6. Im looking at getting an asus rog flow x16 with an asus pen but will mpp 2.0 work specifically the asus pen?
  7. Thanks for the advice, i might check out some computers, i was gonna get a new one anyway so its not to much of a hassle.
  8. Hold on 50 to 60 million without slowness that’s perfect, thats well enough for what id like to do.
  9. What would you recommend for using 3dcoat without getting slowness?
  10. The specs for a surface pro 9 are below. Cpu: 12th gen intel i7-1255u Graphics: intel iris xe graphics memory: 32gb ram
  11. Thanks but what about compatibility with surface pro devices?
  12. So i have an issue with pen pressure and sensitivity on my surface pro 6 while using 3Dcoat. every time i use it on certain tools it crashes. I went to reddit and asked for help and someone answered with a solution. They say the issue is open GL and intel drivers and that a way to fix it is to use version 4.9.74 of 3Dcoat and thatll resolve the pen issues. This person was also facing the same issues as me. But might a future version of 3Dcoat fix that issue entirely without needing to go back to an older version?
  13. So can i use 3Dcoat print for commercial use like 3d printing and selling those printed items? I know zbrush has a program called core mini which is also free but is severely limited and cant use commercially. Does Print work well on surface pro devices with pen pressure and sensitivity with the surface pen? And whats the difference between print and regular 3Dcoat, are there any limitations like so many tools or can only reach a certain amount of voxels?
  14. Im looking to buy a new computer for 3d sculpting and i was hoping someone might have a recommendation. I also want to know if anyone has used 3Dcoat on a surface pro 9. If so hows well can it handle the software and how is the stylus pen pressure and sensitivity? I would prefer a 2 in 1 laptop for that portable tablet experience but im willing to look at regular laptops and graphic tablets if thats the best way to run 3Dcoat. Also what may i need to look for with stylus/pen input? ive used 3Dcoat on a surface pro 6 and had alot of problems with pen pressure resulting in crashes when using certain tools while pen pressure was enabled. I just dont want to run into the same issues again and if someone has a option for what to get to avoid that would be great. Im also planning on going to university, so ill have to have a portable setup.
  15. I would love to get into 3d coat more, i have tried on my surface pro. But something kept making it crash from the pen pressure and using certain tools with it. I really want to use this software but i am afraid if it wont work. So i was hoping others might have some good recommendations on the perfect set up like type of computer, tablet, specs, stylus and all that. Im also looking for a portable set up for university. so a laptop might be necessary. Thank you.
  16. Okay i cant even use it, i dont know why but selecting a brush and using it causes the whole program to crash, ive updated to the current version. I couldnt say if stroke mode would help or not. It was never like this at the start, and being a demo im not sure how the full program would work any better.
  17. Wow it now works thank you very much. i changed the symbols to pen and now my brush radius goes small to big. But while pressure works it didnt feel like it was adding more volume to the sculpt. Like if i were to put more pressure on, it felt like it changed the size of the brush only instead of how much clay is building up. This could just be me though. i did try and mess with depth of the brush but it felt like i was sculpting at the same width. I also had multiple crashes when using some tools so im not sure if thats a software or computer problem.
  18. I have had this issue for awhile now, i have been using a surface pro 6 and surface pen on the 3D coat demo. I haven’t managed to get any pen pressure as brush strokes stay the same. I have downloaded wintab to see if that worked and it didn’t. I also contacted 3D coat support and they came back with changing tablet interface with windowsink instead of wintab and that didnt work either. how do i fix this?
  19. Thanks i was worried the software only had so much power no matter how good your specs were. But im glad the better the specs are the more your able to do in 3d coat. What im currently looking at in a laptop should tick the boxes of what you suggested too.
  20. Ive looked at the requirements for 3d coat and under normal with an i7 and 16gb ram you can get 20 million triangles. So does that mean 3dcoat can only run a maximum of 20 million or can it be more with better specs? I ask that because im looking at getting a 32gb ram and 11 gen i7 laptop and dont know how the software would run and what would be its limits. The other question i have is im currently using a surface pro with a surface pen on the 3dcoat demo and i have no pen pressure. Do i need to have a driver like zbrush or is there a setting for it? right now that would be the important thing to solve to use 3d coat properly.
  21. I have had experience with sculpting in blender, but wanted to try 3dcoat after hearing about its voxel features. Right now i only have the demo but havent tried it for long. Im a little confused with the brush layout. im not sure what the difference is to clay engine, voxel tools and claydraw. Is voxel sculpting always enabled with all these tools or do they work differently and seperately? Where do the surface tools come in? Ive been planning on getting the new suface laptop studio with 11th gen icore 7 with 32 gb of ram. With how much power 3d software needs, will that be enough, especially for high amount of details and sculpting full body characters and objects? because 3dcoat has voxels, do i still need to use subdivide, retopology and remesh when sculpting, or can it be completely voxel sculpting with none of those options?
