  1. Thanks for sharing! This will be helpful.
  2. SubD Sculpting would be a very welcome addition, and a good move to make 3DC more attractive to those that are more comfortable with multi-res poly sculpting. And there have been times that I wish I could just sculpt on a base mesh without having to convert it to voxel\surfaces. Polysculpt could combine vertex painting (transferable from voxel sculpt), uv painting (ppp), and scupting. +2
  3. Nice work on the scorpion! Thankfully I've never met one in real life.
  4. Andrew, can you add a "Through all volumes" option for the SurfHide tool? and if possible, allow it to hide any voxel volumes also? This would be useful for the lasso options with multilayered objects. For the low poly editor: A subd toggle\preview would be quite handy too.
  5. I have also experienced a similar bug. My object was missing sides and scaled down. I don't know what causes it and it does not happen all the time. On a side note, trying to rotate around the sketch box is a pain, unless I switch to "Rotate around world center".
  6. I was just thinking about this and found this thread. +1 for anything that will make the quasi-real-time render engine in 3DC to be more competitive. especially with real-time presentation\render engines like Marmoset Toolbag and Element 3D.
  7. Very cool, thanks for sharing! Just watching someone else's workflow can spark ideas or revive others.
  8. I like how Zbrush handles lighting, the sphere with light positions, much easier to set up than 3DC.
  9. Nice sculpt and details! scary, but well done Looking forward to seeing it painted. And +1 for spec roughness and CUDA update.
  10. L'Ancien Regime, pixo, fleeting time : Thanks! Garagarape: Thanks! I moved the arrows around more to look more natural. The bow and arrows are coming up on my list to sculpt. I think I'm about ready to retopo after I finish a few more objects and details. Update:
  11. I like the second alternative, linked layers hilighted. What about being able to parent a layer to another, just like in the voxel room? This could serve 2 purposes: 1. Give us layer folder organization. 2. If the parent layer has painted content, that content will mask all child layers, essentially all child layers will be linked to the parent.
  12. +1 from me but I can see this getting confusing pretty quick when there are multiple linked layers. I propose an addition to this request, adding color coding or a numerical correspondence so that when I look at a layer with a link icon on it, I can tell quickly which layer it is linked to. We also really need layer folders, but that's another feature request (looks like maybe in v4).
  13. Bump. Save\Load lighting setups. And for a global shadow quality setting. It looks like the shadow changes depending on what layer is selected and its resolution.
  14. chris_solo & Kargall: Thanks! Garagarape: Yes, I forgot to hide the arrow for that render. Now they are more believable More wrinkles and detail for the clothing is definitely on the to do list and the hat was inspired by the Dunkleosteus. LkSMangako: Thanks! I plan on retopoing within the 15k tris limit, otherwise it's over 6 mil tris. (though in the turntable renders I forget to restore several of the downgraded layers)
  15. A simple but useful idea: 1. Select an area on object 2 2. Select an area on object 1 3. Click snap to snap object 2 to object 1 aligned with object 1 selection normal. or: This will help prevent fiddling (sometimes alot) with the transform tool to align one object with another.
  16. Is there a way to disable the scrolling inertia? It's not consistent and sometimes the palette creeps on me after I stop scrolling. (wacom and mouse) Ok, this seems a little weird but can someone confirm that dragging a voxel layer over another layers "+" (but on the right most side of the plus button) will make the selected layer a child of it. But if you drag a layer and drop it on the left most side of the plus button, it just creates an empty child layer.
  17. Garagarape: Thanks! I haven't put too much thought yet to color, but it probably will be simple dark colors. Especially since his goal is to remain hidden. Another update: Starting to add straps, buckles, armor...
  18. It is there to show or hide each axis line (x,y,z) individually if you have the Axis visible.
  19. That looks great, I like the colors!
  20. I find myself in Linux every once in a while so thanks for the tip.
