  1. Yes, I used the new serial number system - guess I can try again! Okay - got it!
  2. Hi I sent in the request for a new serial number a few days ago but haven't received it yet - when could I expect it? I'm anxious to try out the new version Thanks
  3. Well, I'm new with Lightwave and didn't know about align - thanks Ztreem!
  4. Sorry - I should have said that I was just importing the tree and not the leaves. These might help - first pix is in Lightwave, second is in 3D Coat.
  5. When I save a tree as an obj and import it into Lightwave or 3D Coat, a lot of polygons are flipped the wrong way. Is this a setting I'm missing? Thanks
  6. This is really great! Is there any way to rotate the view? Also, when I picked "Roots" and checked "Enabled" the roots seemed to be added as branches - is there a setting somewhere to put the roots at the bottom?
  7. I have one program that requires an internet connection to validate the licence *every time* it's updated. This gets quite annoying because the software is updated often, and that means I can't use it until I can get an internet connection (no, I'm not on the internet 24/7 ) The first two options sound reasonable to me - I just want to use the software when I need it.
  8. As a "new" customer I would also prefer software not to be locked to a specific hard drive. I have run into the situation (several times) where I have purchased software I can no longer use because of this (sometimes the company changes hands or goes out of business) so it's money down the drain. However, as long as I have a licence key or serial number, I'm good to go no matter how often I need to change systems - I usually replace my laptop every 1-2 years.
  9. Thanks for the fast reply! Guess I didn't look far enough in the Edit menu, but there it is! I was hoping to avoid the NVidia Photoshop/Tools because it "stops responding" and sometimes crashes my system (even though I have all the latest drivers), so I'll try a few of the other file formats to see if I can get a smaller file size. Thanks again!
  10. First, 3D Coat is a great program - it's so much easier to "paint" on an object than trying to paint a "flat" texture. I've just done a few tests objects with it to try it out (I've only had it since yesterday) and it works great with Lightwave and my game engine. I need to export normal maps and preferably textures in dds format, but I've found that it exports rather large files - I tried a simple box with just a few paint strokes on it and the normal map dds file was over 5 megs (I try to keep these under one meg.) So I was wondering if there is a way to cut down the file size (I was using 1024x1024). Also, is there a way to change the texture size once a model is loaded, or can that only be done during import? Thanks.
