  1. Thanks again! Appreciated. I think it might be worth pointing the devs to maybe rename the default template to attract more users, as this functionality inside Coat is absolutely insane and the most easy way Ive seen this implemented in any software. Maybe there could be added an additional template called "Seamless Texture Sculpting" that uses the Translation you described. And the current "3x3 Tile" one could be renamed in "3x3 - Instanced Tiling" or something, so that new users don't get confused and are immediately offered a template for the "Translation" approach without manual setup.
  2. Fantastic! That works. Thanks a lot! I'm using a scaled up plane or box to get it really seamless, as the 3x3 template still comes with the unwelcome gaps when you need a continuous surface.
  3. I was looking forward to sculpt tiling textures in 3d coat, ever since I caught a glimpse on the "Tile box 3x3" option in the Surface Sculpt Welcome screen. I was under the impression that it will just work as it says. Unfortunately it is not. You can not paint across instances, which is a huge oversight imo. In addition, the template setup has the tiles overlapping, causing seams between them when you stencil project something. It is really just an instance tiling rather than the true Tiles Painting you get when choosing the Per Pixel Painting Tiling 3x3 template from the Welcome Screen, which is how it is supposed/someone would expect it to work. (I do a lot of hand painting color only tiling textures in Krita, and it caught me by surprise that 3D Coat doesn't allow seamless tiling sculpting, even tho the template says so). A system like in Krita (Wrap Around Mode) or what Blender offers, would be needed for this to be a usable system actually for anything else that isn't a surface that consists of several individual elements like Bricks or Wooden planks. I feel in the age of Nanite, for gaming textures/modular piece creation, this would be a very important thing to have to be able to utilize 3D Coats fantastic Sculpting tools to create tiling geo pieces or displacement maps.
  4. Bump, 10 years later. I was looking forward to sculpt tiling textures in 3d coat, ever since I caught a glimpse on the "Tile box 3x3" option in the Surface Sculpt Welcome screen. 5. Any news on this? In Particular regarding "Move Infinite Depth"?
  6. And with the point being? I don't understand what you mean. My post was about the current inability to fill something with "non-freeze" in 3D Coat, which is an oversight. I do not understand what filling with eraser has to do with it, or adds to the point in any way.
  7. Thanks for the update. I am not entirely sure what you mean. If I use "Fill with Eraser", that doesn't erase any Freezing. Could you elaborate what you mean by "Resumed"?
  8. A HUGE thanks from the heart for the implementation of B+W masks. They are working really great now since 2024.14, and having the additional advanced functionality already in, like converting existing layers to masks, is very welcome! It's a fantastic feeling to finally be able to combine 3D Coats extremely good paint room tools with the robustness of masks. Crossing fingers for non destructive adjustments to come.
  9. Thx much! I just now realized what it does, as I never clicked "Ok" before: It sends a pic to a non-existing-anymore 404 website So I guess it'd be save to remove. Couple of times I lost progress again in the meantime due to it causing crashing.
  10. Thx for having a look and the info. Jeah, seems most reasonable to remove it to not interfere with certain shortcut combos. But of course that would be sad for people using it already and being used to it. I cross fingers it either gets removed or deactivateable again.
  11. This is the most workflow breaking default key combo I have ever witnessed. Esp for people who use a ton of hotkeys, Zbrush style, like Shift+Ctrl+Alt+Whatever Key in combination, and working fast, it is almost inevitable to hit these. I wouldn't mind, if the program wouldn't crash guaranteed every single time I accidentally hit it, and often causing me to lose progress, even tho I already save frequently, incrementally, which is Shift+Ctrl+Alt+S for me. I looked into the Help menu and couldn't find what you described @AbnRanger. Could you maybe hint me to how to disable this function in 2024+ ? I browsed the Preferences, but nothing caught my eye so far.
  12. Same Issue here. Wrote Andrew mutliple times about it. Baking/Cage display gets ignored/skipped most of the time. Models come out fine , always, but textures are empty. Very sad this feature is not reliable 90% of the time. I tried everything, no repro pattern I could hold on to. No reliable workarounds. It makes this otherwise amazing function eat away time and nerves.
  13. Same here. I'm a bit surprised by this. I recall 3D Coat usually being super fluid while painting. I'm on 2024.12. It seems there is a performance degration somewhen since the last versions. It's not really pleasant anymore to paint.
  14. Jeah I also figured he said "they will appear in .06" but that probably doesn't mean fully functional, yet, right. The groundwork seems well done tho. It should work great once it does, as it has the basic needs in there already. And I hope the undo instability/confusion will get fixed too once it's official.
