  1. Thanks for the link, @Carlosan That helped. I've created a few brushes which I'm going to share, just in case they may be useful to other users, and to see if they're working OK on other systems.
  2. Then it must be a bug, brushes keep disappearing. This time, I took a screenshot of the brushes I added, as I thought I was imagining things. So, here are the brushes I added before closing 3d Coat: And this is what I found when I reopened it: One brush is missing, and the order has changed. Is there an automatic order that works only when 3d Coat is restarted? And what happened to the missing brush? It keeps doing this, and I can't figure out why. Edit: I see now what happened. Two of the brushes I added are the same. I didn't notice it at first as the order isn't organized automatically, but only after 3d Coat is restarted.
  3. Thanks @Elemeno In my case, the fix is not working, I only get the high depth applied. On top of that, now I'm experiencing a new issue: is there some sort of limit to how many brushes I can add to a folder? I added several brushes to an existing folder, only to later realize they were gone. Then, I created a new folder, but even in this case it only stored 14 new brushes (on top of the 6 default ones).
  4. I'm having a couple of brush issue. The first one happens apparently for no reason on some alpha brush only. In come cases, the border of the alpha brush is applied to the operation. As for the second issue, the alpha brush seems to work only on a small area, as shown in the screen capture below: 2022-08-15 11-24-51.mp4
  5. I've tried chisel, flat and hard polish, bur for some reason, I can't seem to get this brushes to work as I'd like. Any hints?
  6. Sweet. Thanks for posting that. I knew the .40 was about to get released, I didn't know the link would be here in the forum.
  7. @Carlosan that was probably the issue. I'm doing more testing, and now it's working fine. Thanks for your help.
  8. Ok, the issue it's pretty consistent, and I managed to do a screen capture. I asked Anton the permission to post the video here. Even though I was just doing some random scribble, I still want to be sure the author of the tutorial is fine with it. As soon as I hear back, I'll follow up.
  9. Thanks for giving it a try @Elemeno It might be related to the On Plane option for the Blob tool, which is what I'm using for this part of the tutorial. I'll see if I can do a screen record on my end.
  10. Hi there, I just bought Anton Tenitsky Modular Town Design tutorial. The first steps require the extensive use of the blob tool, but for me, it's getting complicated as after several steps with the blob tool, 3d Coat becomes unresponsive, and I can only kill it via task manager. Does anyone have stability issues while using the blob tool?
  11. @Elemeno @tokikake Thanks for taking the time to look into it. As I thought, there was something wrong with the generated maps, either AO, or Cavity (most likely the AO map). @Elemenoyou seem to have caught this issue. @tokikake the diffuse pass in your example is still wrong, it's the same result I was mentioning in my previous post here (2nd screenshot from the top) I'm still new to the workflow in 3d Coat, so things are still a little confusing for me, but here's what I found out. The steps I followed are these: I sculpted the hi poly mesh Then, I cloned, and decreased the level of details twice Next, with the decreased mesh selected, I did the AUTOPO I then baked the normal map In the Paint Room, I started the painting part. Now I have a Paint Object available When I started adding the smart materials, I didn't notice that the decreased mesh was still selected It seems that with that mesh still selected, the AO pass was off, and the following smart materials failed to work as expected. Not sure if this is the proper explanation, as being still new to 3d Coat workflow, maybe none of that should matter. If someone more experienced with 3d Coat would chime in to either confirm, or rebut the theory, I would greatly appreciate it. P.S. don't hang up on the Blender screenshots I posted, those results are off regardless of the 3d host being used. The very diffuse pass alone was off.
  12. I think there's something wrong with the AO map, or the normal information 3d Coat generated when I baked from the hi poly to the low poly. So, I've turned off all the layers I was using, and started adding the smart material from scratch. Step 1 Step 2, filling the entire layer You can already see how the diffuse map looks off, it seems it's picking some extra information that is causing the issue Step 3, turning on the AO layer emphasize the issue even further
  13. Thanks @Elemeno I converted the maps to JPG just to the file size small The 3d Coat project is quite heavy at this point, over 3gb with the AUTOPO, and the baked maps, but I've attached the FBX. This is how the map looks in 3d Coat script-rock-paint-03C.zip
  14. Thanks @tokikake The problem is not the metalness. In the screenshot I posted above (the second from the top), you can see how only the diffuse is being previewed, and in there you can see black areas all over the diffuse map. I was playing with the metalness, and left the slot unplugged. Even at zero, the result is still wrong due to the diffuse pass.
  15. I'm having an issue exporting a diffuse pass. It looks fine while in 3d Coat, but when once exported it looks different. This is how it looks in 3d Coat: And this is how the albedo looks in Blender: Just to be clear, in the screenshot above I'm only previewing the albedo pass, but things don't get better when I have the PBR material on: Also, as you can notice, the normal map is not working either. Normal map on: Normal map off: And these are the export settings: This is really confusing. I did export other meshes, with texture setups created in 3d Coat without problems, but for this particular sculpt I can't seem to get it working. Any idea?
  16. Has been the bug addressed? I'm on 3d Coat 2022.39, and I'm having the same issue.
  17. @Carlosan Yes to both questions. I'm using 3d Coat 2022.39, Nvidia driver 516.93 If there's any of the issues mentioned above that I'd like to figure out sooner than later is the color of the selection: is it customizable? I couldn't find any option for it in the theme customization.
  18. Hi there, I have a few questions about the selection tools. I'm not sure whether I'm doing something wrong, or there are some bugs in the latest 3d Coat. Clearing the selection Let's say I want to do a voxel extrude. With the circle lasso, I draw a circle over the surface, and then I apply the extrusion. If, for any reason, I want to go back, I undo the last action. The selection remains, and clicking Clear Selection in the Tool Options window doesn't clear the selection, only CTRL + D does. Is that normal? Selection tool color Is it possible to customize the color of the selection tool? Right now, the green is hardly visible in some circumstances. Jagged lines after moving the selection After I did the selection, I decide to reposition by pressing the space bar. Sometimes, after the selection is confirmed, the edges look jagged (I haven't been able to reproduce this issue every time).
  19. Hey @Carlosan not sure how to check that. I downloaded the 3dcpack from the PBR library (the last scan in the Stone section: MTL00201_Stone_4k_4k), and simply added to 3d Coat via File/Install extension. I assume that's all I needed to do? But after looking at the content, I noticed this: <CavityModulator> <TexturePath>Z:\MTLScan_c\Fabric\3_Fabric\c_3_Fabric_MetallnessComp.jpg</TexturePath> Probably the metalness texture being used is the wrong one. I replaced it with another one.
  20. I downloaded a material, installed it, restarted 3d Coat, and when I tried to apply it I got this error: The strange thing is, the material is not a fabric, it's a stone material. Any clue?
  21. Hi there, It seems no matter what I choose in the Measure Units in the preferences, 3d Coat always reverts it back to Millimeters. I'm using 3d Coat 2022.39
