  1. Uploading two images. The current file im working on has this pinch on my sphere tool. The second image is a new file that is how i expect my sphere tool to work. Does anyone know why my current file has a pinch while using the sphere tool?
  2. How did you manage to figure out this issue? Been wondering the same.
  3. Hi Swifty, I think there might be a solution that I use. Keep in mind, im new to this software so take it with a grain of salt. Not exactly sure if this would cause issues when baking... but here it is (If anyone notices this wont work due to disruption of workflow for baking and later processes, please feel free to correct this post). Steps - Select a smart material- for this example I chose a grey/silver material. - Select a stencil from the "stencils" tab. - Hop into Paint Room (Tab is located at the far left corner right under 3d coat logo) - Adjust Stencil to correct scale and position using the smart material preview. - I use the rectangular stroke tool to project the design in. When taking a look at the image provided with this post, there are two pattern option. One is flat pattern and the other has a bump on the patterns. If you use this method with Vox layer, you can only achieve a flat pattern. If you change the layer type from V to S (Surface) you will be able to include a bump and pattern. I simply increase the depth of my brush to achieve a stronger bump effect. Hope that helps.
  4. As you may know PBR materials come with multiple layers of images. I want to know if there is a way to select a folder or multiple image files to import it automatically to smart material. The current method I am importing the PBR materials are through the smart material editor. I open up the smart material tab and select individual row for normal, rough, matel, etcc.. Noticing that these micro clicks stars to add up in time (hindering workflow efficiency). Is there a more effective way to import PBR materials?
  5. Does anyone know how to invert the "white on black" stencil to "black and white"? Im currently using the cut tool to create the shape of my stencil but im realizing that i need the stencil image to be inverted. I can go into photoshop to invert the image but i assume there must be a feature that allows what i wish to achieve. Please let me know if there are any solutions to this.
  6. Does anyone know a way to paint in without crossing over to another Vox layer or sculpt layer? Im not sure where I can find this solution and would appreciate it if anyone can mention a way to lock my painting affects onto a single layer rather than crossing over and continuing on to another adjacent layer. The only thing that seems to work similar to the result i want is by using the fill tool but i wish i had more control with a brush.
  7. I figured out what you meant! when loading in a new file* Thank you!
  8. sorry pretty new to 3d coat. Are you saying that i need to be in "sculpt room" and then use the "surface tools"? I tried this just now and im not seeing and textures.
  9. Hi, Ill jump straight to the issue.. I'm in fracture room and I selected a vertexture in the panel provided. I used paint tool and I color in my Voxel sphere. The issue is the texture is not present but only the solid color. What am I doing wrong? Am I supposed to turn on something to allow for my textures to show through?
  10. TITLE is supposed to say *[NOOB ISSUE]* sorry for the typo.

  12. Hey guys, Im looking at this youtube video and this guy mentions that there are three versions of 3DC. DX, GL, and CUDA I took a look at my download and it says "3DCoatGL64" I wish to switch it to CUDA as i have an NVDIA Card. Please let me know if anyone has found an option to make this switch. I cant find any information on how to use the CUDA version over the other options. Much appreciated! PS: here is the link to the video with the time stamp to it. (10:08)
  13. Found a Potential fix to this. I realized that the file type of the stencil affects the outcomes of this issue. From what i'm gathering, TIFF files are skewing and misaligning. I've converted each image over to JPEG or PNG and it seems to work! Not sure if this will fix everyone's problem but thought Id share my findings.
  14. @Ctc_nick Thank you! This solution works for 3d coat 2022.54 with blender 3.4.
