  1. It is getting integrated into Houdini now, hopefully other bigger parties will do the same I think it will get quite poplular in the coming year!
  2. This looks really interesting, tought I might share it on this forum.. www.openvdb.org
  3. + 1! Yeah that would be great! I wanted to post something similar like this a few weeks ago but instead of a selection I tought of a quick mask where you just brush / select an area you wanna mask out in screen space and you can move it around whenever you want. This is kinda the same idea I really would like to see this happening!
  4. Tried but not opening.. I'll try and work on a previous version tomorrow without CUDA and see if the holes appear.
  5. Are the bug reports when 3DCoat crashes actually working? I mean the one when sending the crash log along with it. I always send it whenever its a serious crash but I usually get # returned back at me, so i'm not sure if the report is getting through or not? + Are you guys also experiencing some nasty nasty nasty holes? Somehow I solved the nasty holes with alot of random fixing attempts, in the end I converted from surface mode to voxel mode and then back to surface but then I cant open my file anymore the other day.. this is really annoying I've had the same problem three times, because I started over from another backup and the holes are returning somehow.. leaving me with a corrupt file once again. I want to post this on mantis but I dont really have an idea how to call this? I will give this another shot and screencapture when stuff gets nasty..
  6. I love the clean clay brush in V4 Beta! But what I dont like is that its not really fast to use when you want to use it on many areas of your model. Can we have the option of selecting which parts you want to clean with a mask and then press a clean button? I think this will improve the workflow speed, right now Im clean claying an arm (reducing) and it takes for every to brush the whole arm. Not sure if this is the correct area to post this.. but since its V4 beta testing I figured it might be handy to put it here.
  7. You can try importing the model three times in the retopo room (if you want to divide it into three pieces) and then, and then delete the faces from eachother untill you've got three pieces.. not 100% sure if it works dont have 3dcoat on this computer currently.. but you can try this..
  8. Modo should be able to do so eaily, you can also use Houdini very easily.. the Apprentice version is free for non commercial use, and it lets you do everything what the full version does except for rendering.. you might wanna check that one out.
  9. Oh yeah ofcourse.. its better to do it this way I tought 3 seperate models + 3 seperate textures.. which comes in handy in some cases..
  10. Yeah it should be possible.. import model including textures into paint room, go to uv room to create new uv maps textures are automatically updated to new UV's when you apply the new UV's. Next step is to export model with new uv's including textures and then you should be able to split them in your 3D app..
  11. Ok.... finally found a way to fix this... Convert evrything from surface mode to voxel mode then save it and then re-open the file and then you can switch back to surface mode and save it properly.. If you convert from surface to voxel and then back to surface BEFORE saving you will still have a memory leak somehow it clears the ram when you convert from surface to voxel, save, close, reopen..
  12. Posted it.. wanted to post it yesterday but it got 2 oclock in the morning from where I live when I noticed the bug.. Still looking for workarounds to fix this, hopefully I wil find one..
  13. I was working on my model and when I saved it it suddenly got 3GB's for 3.5 mil triangles.. this cant be right.. all my other versions are 250mb Just incremental saved to another version and the file got 8GB!! And my 16GB ram is filled to the max.. Is there a way for me to report this without sending the scene? Im using 3.7.18F Things I did before this happened: Updated nvidia drivers yesterday, I moved the head of my character down so it intersected with the body and I cleaned up with decimate + smooth.. thats all I did.. :'(
  14. Is it possible to store image previews somewhere else? I really get annoyed by them!! I've been collecting the whole cgtextures.com library for 3 months now, everyday 100mb with my premium account and I have sorted them out niceley in folders but when I use some of them for texture painting in 3D Coat a small thumbnail appears with a small prefix called *image*_prv.tga The way I work now is by deleting everytime.. but it would be more nice if I were able to store them on a different location.. not sure if this allready is possible! But I did not find it just yet.
  15. Cool I will definatly post bugs on mantis in the future!
  16. Thank you! So is it possible for everyone to post bugs on Mantis? Ive seen the Mantis link a few times but never tried posting /registering on it..
  17. Found a bug btw, the freeze intensity just dies on me in the paintroom.. I cant see the curve anymore..
  18. I got happy when I read about your workaround but sadly it doesnt work on my end.. Hopefully it will get fixed/added in the next release.. i'll try and play a bit more to get it work!
  19. The freeze tool also seem to be quite bad with add/subtracting I just noticed.. might wanna look into that!
  20. Would be very nice if we were able to smooth our freeze selection with shift plus drag.. just feels intuative! I was just freezing some parts of my model, one part is high intensity freeze and another part is low intensity freeze, I wanted to blend the hard and soft intensities by holding down the (shift) smooth tool but strangely nothing happened.. I think this will be a handy feature to add!
  21. Yea clicking No is not the best way to use it like this.. I prefer selecting the image first and then delete it (for now) makes more sense instead of pressing no.
  22. Wow looks really usefull! I want to try this, but for 1500 dollars I think I should skip this... :| Thanks for sharing!
