  1. Here is an update regarding "3DCoat 2021" for Linux. "3DCoat 2021.66" for Linux has been successfully compiled and linked under Ubuntu 20.04 on my desktop. But because there were a lot of changes recently there is a startup crash that is currently under investigation.
  2. Hello, Allabulle! Some time ago after updating Ubuntu 20.04 it stopped booting on my laptop (on which I was building "3DCoat 2021" for Linux). On my desktop, Ubuntu 21.04 was installed. But because of several building problems, I am currently unable to build "3DCoat 2021" on it. So my plan is to eliminate the gap between Linux builds by installing Ubuntu 20.04 on my desktop. Then build and upload the current "3DCoat 2021.6x" (hopefully in the nearest days). The global plan is to migrate the "3DCoat 2021" building onto the new Ubuntu 21.10 and make more regular semi-automated builds.
  3. "3DCoat 2021" for macOS had a problem with the Wacom tablet. Please try the latest "3DCoat 2021.59" for macOS: https://pilgway.com/~sergyi/links-macOS.html The Wacom tablet should work correctly: no missed strokes and no pressure problems.
  4. Using the latest "3DCoat-2021.54" for macOS I have performed on my both Macs such steps: run 3DCoat 2021 for macOS > Voxel Sculpting > the biggest sphere > brush Grow > Radius 10 > Depth 100 > making strokes with mouse on 60 FPS > then Commands > Res+ two times (almost 4 million tris) > decreased the radius to 5 > making strokes with mouse on about 50 FPS Video of performance on my Mac Pro 2013: https://pilgway.com/~sergyi/Video/MacPro-3DCoat-2021.54.mov Video of performance on my MacBook Pro 2017: https://pilgway.com/~sergyi/Video/MacBookPro-3DCoat-2021.54.mov Please try in Finder > Go > Home > Documents > rename your user data folder "3DCoat-2021" into something like "----3DCoat-2021". Then start "3DCoat 2021" and test the performance. And then manually move your scenes from the older user data folder into the new one.
  5. Good day! First of all please note that "3DCoat 2021" and "3DCoatTextura 2021" clients have "FServer" built-in. You have to click "Load license" and open your file "FLOATING.license" directly inside them. Generally, there is no need to install and configure "FServer" for "3DCoat 2021" and "3DCoatTextura 2021" when your client machines are able to connect to the Internet. Only when your client machines with "3DCoat 2021" and "3DCoatTextura 2021" are not able to connect to the Internet but your server machine with "FServer" can connect to the "Internet" then there is a need for a local license server "FServer". Please see more in the document https://pilgway.com/~sergyi/FServer/FServer.pdf That said here are answers to your questions: 1. Yes, the local license server "FServer" which supports "3DCoat 2021" is available for macOS. 2. No, because you don't even have to install the local license server "FServer" for your scenario. Click "Load license" inside your all "3DCoat 2021" clients to load your "FLOATING.license". "3DCoat 2021" clients will acquire your floating license from our global license server pilgway.com (188.138.102.74) through port 80. 3. Yes, because the local license server "FServer" is intended to replace the Internet connection from "3DCoat" clients to our global license server "pilgway.com" with the local connection between "3DCoat" clients and local license server "FServer". 4. Yes, a floating license is recommended for several users. But in "3DCoat 2021" it can be used without "FServer" in case "3DCoat 2021" clients can connect to the Internet.
  6. "Red screen" (red window) means that "Gatekeeper" (a security feature in macOS) has isolated "3DCoat" executable from its data. This problem also manifests itself as "startup crash" on some machines. To solve the problem clear in Terminal quarantine attribute from "3DCoat" folder: Terminal > xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/3DCoat-2021.23 (put your actually installed version in the command above). Please read more in this document: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Auai329bOaBMuRbfo5ZHaYDRmEJ0NK3kWp6x1qJ08YA/edit?usp=sharing
  7. This week I will try to update my Linux to 21.04 to see on my machine what is going on.
  8. Sorry, but there is no mention of any "3DCoat" function in this report.
  9. Thanks for your kind words and thanks that you have noticed details! I have a question for you. There are two Linux-users who reported that the menu "Bake > Bake w/ Normal Map" crashes "3DCoat". They both are using "21.04". But I am unable to install "21.04" on my system (black screen after EFI, no errors from GRUB). "Bake w/ Normal Map" is working ok on my "20.04". Are you using "21.04"? Is "Bake w/ Normal Map" working on your system?
  10. No. Just black screen after EFI. No errors from GRUB. Google finds other users with the same problem after installing 21.04.
  11. Using "Points to polygon" I have filled the whole big sphere without problem. Maybe your system is overheating. Try to enable "3DCoat > Edit > Preferences > Viewport > Vertical synchronization".
  12. I am afraid that this depends on hardware/driver configuration. On my system the situation is completely opposite: "TabletPC" is very fast (> 50 FPS), but "WinTab" slows down FPS (to 10 FPS) on my Wacom Intuos 3.
  13. Please send email directly to me sergkryzh AT gmail DOT com. I will compare tablet code 4.9.72 vs 2021 and will build a special executable for you.
  14. Personally we have only Wacom and Surface Pro tablets. I have searched our emails and there are "3DCoat" users with "Huion" tablets (under Windows and Linux). Please note that: 1. Currently "3DCoat" supports two APIs for tablets which you can choose in "3DCoat > Edit > Preferences > Brushing > Tablet Interface = "WinTab" (legacy support for "Wacom" tablets) or "TabletPC" (which is "Windows Ink" and it should work for all tablets). Try both APIs. 2. Several customers which are using "3DCoat" with "Huion" tablets have reported that they needed to check the option "3DCoat > Edit > Preferences > Brushing > [V] Treat eraser as pen" because the pen tip worked as eraser in "WinTab" mode. 3. On the "Huion" site there are discussions about problems with "Windows Ink". "Huion" support recommends such steps: unplug the tablet, uninstall the currently installed driver, install the latest driver from their site, then plug the tablet.
  15. Disk image with "3DCoat" for macOS has been notarized with Apple and it should open without malicious software warning. But please download "3DCoat-2021.09.dmg" then do the following: 1. In Terminal go into "Downloads" folder: % cd ~/Downloads 2. Make sure that: % ls -l 3DCoat-2021.09.dmg returns size 991602118 (bytes) % shasum 3DCoat-2021.09.dmg returns checksum 0f0ad61e870fe4b4a71d3770836f6fb48b6d5958 3. Clear extended attributes (among them could be "com.apple.quarantine"): % xattr -c 3DCoat-2021.09.dmg Make sure that there is no attribute "com.apple.quarantine": % ls -l@ 3DCoat-2021.09.dmg 4. Open the disk image and as always drag & drop "3DCoat" into "Applications" icon: % open 3DCoat-2021.09.dmg Step 2 simply checks the integrity of the downloaded disk image. Step 3 clears extended attribute "com.apple.quarantine" which is crucial.
  16. Because of the new LLVM I would like to install Ubuntu 21.04 regardless since it doesn't start after installation on my machine. But it will take some time to understand how to do that.
  17. On my Ubuntu 20.04 with CPU i7 and GPU AMD Radeon Pro 555 the "Bake w/ Normal Map" works (no crash). I have tried to install Ubuntu 21.04 but it doesn't start after installation. Linux-3DCoat-Bake-Render.webm
  18. On my Ubuntu 20.04 with CPU i7 and GPU AMD Radeon Pro 555 the "Render" works (no black). Your "Log.txt" doesn't have any errors from shaders. I have tried to install Ubuntu 21.04 but it doesn't start after installation.
  19. Fixed the problem "pen offset" in "TabletPC" interface using "High DPI" mode. See the nearest build for Windows.
  20. We have reproduced the "offset problem". But only in "TabletPC" mode and only when "High DPI" mode is enabled. We will fix that.
  21. 1. You can always enable "High DPI" mode in "3DCoat": Go to "3DCoat" executable file "C:\Program Files\3DCoat-V2021.02\3DCoatGL64.exe" > [RMB] Properties > Compatibility > Change high DPI settings > High DPI scaling override > set "Application" Then run this "3DCoat" executable. Go to Edit > Preferences > Theme > Font Size > set "Large" 2. Please note that "TabletPC" mode is considered like the main tablet API for "3DCoat" in Windows. This is because Surface devices support only "TabletPC". The "WinTab" is considered a legacy.
  22. "3DCoat 2021.RC1" has been re-uploaded to support 10.13 High Sierra and above.
  23. "3DCoat 2021.RC1" has been re-uploaded to support 10.13 High Sierra and above.
  24. Please try to reproduce the problem on our standalone test: http://pilgway.com/~sergyi/TestStroke/TestStroke.zip Key "1" enables the Wacom "WinTab" interface. Key "2" enables Microsoft "TabletPC" interface. Try them both. Report which of them has the problem and contact me directly: sergkryzh at gmail dot com.
  25. Please note that the error "Out of memory" is caused by corrupted data inside the user folder "This PC > Documents/3D-CoatV2021 (3D-CoatV49)". It means that the user folder has some texture with a damaged header. That causes "3DCoat" to allocate an abnormal memory chunk. Rename the user folder into something like "-----3D-CoatV2021" ("----3D-CoatV49"). Start "3DCoat". It will create a new user folder. Manually copy your assets from the old user folder into the new one. Note which file (most probably a texture with a damaged header) causes the problem. Then send that damaged texture to me: sergkryzh at gmail dot com. When there is a problem with "OpenGL" it leads to "3DCoat" freezing. To check OpenGL compatibility please download and run our standalone test which shares the same "OpenGL" code with "3DCoat": http://pilgway.com/~sergyi/TestStroke/TestStroke.zip
