  1. Hello! Is it possible to export multiple UV maps out of 3D-Coat? I can export them as tiles, but I need different maps.
  2. I'm working on some UVs right now, and I just moved some red-area verts closer to each other and they turned blue, so I'm not sure that right... Unless I misunderstood what you are saying.
  3. Hello :-) I've been told that it is better to try and keep as much of the model together (as one island) when uv-unwrapping, resulting in less seams. However, that means more (and quite heavy) tweaking of the uvs after unwrap. I can see why it is important to reduce the number of seams if you want to paint your model in 2D, but is it necessary when painting in 3D-coat, where you can just paint across the seams? thanks, dragon (I hope I'm making sense here...)
  4. Ok, it kinda works, but it seems my UVs just aren't set up right for 3D-Coat. Damn -.-
  5. I can't get it to work -.- I attached my file; would be great if someone could tell me what I have to do to import it correctly.
  6. I can upload it tomorrow, but first I'd like to know if it is generally possible and what settings I have to use.
  7. Hello Is it possible to import a .dae with multiple UV-maps? The model and one UV-map imports just fine, but I need a way to get all my maps to 3D-coat. Thanks, dragon
  8. There won't be that much detail because there will be manymanymany of these dragons in the final scene, flying in the distance. But thanks anyway ^^
  9. I'm working on some dragons. They will be used for a crowd-simultaion and only be visible in the distance. Modelled in Blender.
  10. Thanks, I installed DirectX9 and it works now.
  11. '^^ could have thought of that myself. Thanks.
  12. When I try to open 3D-CoatDX, I get the error: "The programm can't start because d3dx9_38.dll is missing from your computer." Now, I tried reinstalling the software but it doesn't work. Any ideas how to fix this? dragon
  13. Thanks. Ok, next noob question: Can I (test)render directly out of 3D-Coat?
  14. Thanks It's not about sculpting, I'm texturing an existing model (sry, question was unclear '^^) I'd like to watch your livestream if I have time.
  15. As I have mentioned in the introduction thread, I'm working on a dragon and need some help. First question has noting to do with the project but is a general thing: I have a Aiptek-tablet and would like to use it in 3D-Coat, problem is that I have no middle-mouse-button. With my old pc and winXP I could assign the middle-mouse-button to one of the buttons on the pen, but now with win7 I can't find this option. Does anyone know how to solve this? (Or work around it, along as I can navigate properly again) Second: resolution. How high does it have to be to look good? I tried giving the head a higher res than the rest of the body (smaller scales), but then I got a visible seam between high res and lower res... 3D-Coat is the only program that kills my computer from time to time ^^' There will be more questions, but this is it for now. greets, dragon
  16. Hi everyone I'm fairly new to 3D-Coat and hope to find some support here. I use Blender and Houdini for modelling, animating, ect. At the moment I'm trying to figure out the best way to texture a dragon (ptex) - if anyone could point me to a good tutorial I would be really glad. So long, dragon Btw: I'm from Austria, so grammar mistakes might occur ^^
