Hello! I am having an issue with our floating licenses of 3D Coat. 4.5.40 and 4.7 are crashing on startup while 4.5.23 runs fine. On startup, the interface just quits BOOM. I get the load screen, then the interface window comes up briefly, then it shuts off. Machine specs are: iMacs Retina 5k 27 inch late 2015 3.2 Ghz Intel i5 16 GB Ram 1867 MHz DDR3 AMD Radeon R9 M390 2048 MB I have attached the crash report. Excelsior! Viewport lighting position in 4.5
THEBUBZ posted a topic in General 3DCoatHey all, I recently upgraded to 4.5 and am a little confused about some of the changes made to the viewport. Previously, I could adjust the light from side to side, and up and down, but now I can only the rotate the light around my model. This normally isn't a big deal but when Trying to view the bottom of the object or get a better handle on seeing the normals, not being able to rotate the light up and down is a real pain. Am I doing something wrong or possibly is there a setting to not lock the light? Also Is there anyway to bring back the ambient light adjustment while painting? In the previous version I loved varying my ambient light and primary light around 40 give or take so I can see some lighting on the model, but not have the top of the mesh blown out and over lit. Thanks for any help. Currently I just toggle back and forth between versions but it gets really annoying after a while.
PBR Smart Materials Tutorial for 3D-Coat (Really Good)

Well don't worry, because I found this really great tutorial about how to paint with the new PBR Smart Materials in 3D-Coat! It is made by an Italian guy who goes by the name of DoctorDanko on Youtube. His Italian accent is only mild, so his English is still very easy to understand. Spike Runner game...export PBR to vray
zFarm posted a topic in Finished ProjectsHey.. wow so i downloaded the new 4.5 demo. I haven't use 3d coat so this is my first attempt. I built the bike in max but did all the painting in 3dc. I've been painting textures professionally for yrs... I started as a full time tex artist on Shrek2 and have used just about every software in the industry. Once I started getting the paint on the engines I was sold!! This is for a VR game Im pitching called Spike runner. Basic Star Wars universe game. You're on the edge of a forgotten planet just trying to scrape out a living as a bounty hunter when you fall into a conspiracy/mystery much bigger that you could imagine. Anyway.. Im trying to export this out to 3dsmax and vray and was wondering if anyone knows how to set that up.. that way I can put it back together.
Noob question..can't find decimate

v4.5 - Can't paint depth?
Hessel posted a topic in General 3DCoatHello, I am a relatively new user to 3DCoat, but I am having difficulties with version 4.5. In version 4, I can easily paint depth with the paintbrush tool. For example, I could select a texture/stencil, adjust my depth, and build normal maps. However, in version 4.5, I can no longer seem to paint depth at all. At any depth setting, no depth appears whatsoever. I'm not sure if I am just not pressing the right buttons or what, but I was unable to find help for this topic on the forum. This is a very frustrating issue, and I really appreciate any help to solve this problem! Thank you! - Cory
PBR Texture Export
Grimmy posted a topic in General 3DCoatHi, I just ran a test with the new PBR materials and exported my model and textures to an FBX. 3 textures got exported (diffuse, gloss and nmap) but when I load up the textures in an external program the diffuse is completely black. Is that right? I'm completely new to this 'physically based' world, so any help is welcome. Cheers
