  4. Anton Tenitsky Shows Off a Great 3D-Coat Tool for UV Mapping Triangulated Meshes Without a Hassle. source Have a great asset that is just way too dense to be useful? Of course, decimation and retopology is an option. Otherwise, it would be near impossible (or just incredibly time-consuming) to create UVs for a dense triangulated model. Or so I thought until I watched Anton Tenitsky’s latest tutorial.Anton is a mentor for CG Spectrum College of Digital Art & Animation who often shares some great tips on creating concept artwork.Watch Anton show off 3D-Coat’s Amazing UV Path-finding tool that can make short work of dense triangulated meshes. With it, you just place a line where you want the UV’s border edges to be, regardless of the object’s topology. Very handy! Anton shows how the tool works on one of his Rugged Rocks from his asset pack. You can learn more about that here.
  5. Anton Tenitsky Shares Some Tips for How to Better Manage Layers in 3D-Coat, Despite Shortcomings 3D Artist Anton Tenitsky looks at some ways that you can better manage layers in 3D-Coat. Why is this a thing? Unlike most other applications, 3D-Coat doesn’t let you add to your selection of layers by using the shift or any other key. So if you are familiar with working with layers in Photoshop, you might need some new strategies for 3D-coat.
  6. Anton Tenitsky Shares a Quick Tip for Getting Cleaner Edges on Stencils & Alpha Selections in 3D-Coat 3D-Coat already comes with a wide variety of stencils that you can use for both sculpting and painting. You can also easily make your own stencils. You might have found that when you do, the edges can be less than ideal. Turns out that there is quite a simple fix for this. Anton Tenitsky shares a simple discovery that can make the edges much cleaner with your homemade stencil. Blur. If you blur the edges in your favorite editing program, it will appear much cleaner within 3D-Coat. Sounds a bit counter intuitive to degrade an edge with a blur to get a cleaner edge, but as seen in Tenitsky’s tip… It works! Anton is mentor at the CG Spectrum College of Digital Art & Animation.
