What is a fast way to do Boolean operations with two primitives ? Thank you .

Sometimes when doing boolean operations they fail, the error is long and usually about intersection. Adjusting and trying again(especially with say muscle brush) this can be frustrating process... Any tip on how to resolve? Is it just bad geometry or lack of or too much triangle density/difference between the two volumes?

Is there a way to copy part of your retopo or import other mesh data to another layer and affect another with a live boolean/replace effect? Similar to how this Modo feature is shown: *should start at 21:38 showing off the feature until 21:47. I've requested something similar for sculpt room(but more of being able to use a reference mesh to snap to like retopo offers), now I'm having some trouble finding some sculpt room like features in retopo.. The sculpt mesh is 10 million triangles, and retopo 1 million. It came out mostly well, but had some errors I will fix. Draft quality(Fastest) took about 8-10 hours to process(Intel i5-6500 3.2GHz quad core, Nvidia GTX 1070, 32GB RAM, SSD), seemed mostly only able to use a single thread Appreciate any tips on how to speed that up but get density of that size(which unfortunately quite a few other operations have trouble performing on, edge must avoid accidental doble click with select, which can take >20 mins to perform.. brush select work fine though).

Hello to awesome 3D coat team! Do you guys plan to do anything like live booleans in Zbrush 4R8? For me, that's the only feature that Zbrush has that is really worth adding. I don't know if voxel sculpting would allow something like that or if it is easy to implement but it would be really great to see. Maybe in 3D Coat 5 Cheers, Anton

I saw somewhere that it is possible to perform Boolean operations on Volume layers, but haven't been able to discover how. 1) Is this possible? 2) What is the procedure? Specifically, how is Boolean SUBTRACT performed between layers? Tnx! +++ EDIT: I found the function (don't know why RMB on layer name didn't show it up b4, I did try), but the actual subtraction is resulting in some sort of disk caching where the target, subtracted FROM layer is downsampled and converted to a Surface layer??? WUWT?
