  1. Hi! So, I've been struggling for some time now. I'm making characters in DAZ and I want to import one into 3DC and to be specific: I want to get him into the scene and then slize his face off. What's the exact workflow here? Wich room do I import him into? Wich settings? Can you keep the maps while doing this? Wich tool do I use to cut a part of him away? Is it possible to export this guy with the MTL file still intact to render in other software? I want to get him back into DAZ for rendering! Right now I'm drag/dropping him into 3DC, choose import for per-pixel painting, but when I press Sculpt he disappears. And in the other rooms i can't find a function like "Cut off" in the sculpt room. When I pick import for vertex painting/big reference his maps look super weird, like low-res or something.
  2. Hi Can anyone explain what is happening here? I sculpted and retopoed a car that looks ok in 3d Coat but is horrid on export to Simlab and Daz Studio. This is the paint object in 3d coat This is the mesh This is in Simlab without Normal map This is in Simlab with normal map Daz without normal map Daz with normal map
  3. I'm trying to create a new UV set for an existing model using 3DCoat, and everything goes smoothly until I try loading the new UVs in my rendering software. Other UV editing tools seem to work fine but 3DCoat keeps producing stray polygons that aren't mapped properly. I can only assume that it's something to do with the vert order compared to the base mesh but I don't know why 3DCoat would be changing things with other apps don't and I can't find anywhere to adjust any settings related to this. Does anyone know of a way for me to prevent the altering of vert order?
  4. Hi people, I am a new old user (yes I had 3DCoat for a long time, but only now I am a real user) and my idea is to start paint things for DAZ Studio that is using NVidia Iray engine for render and support for PBR shaders. So anyone with tips to paint cloth, textures let me know.
  5. Hi guys, I've recently attended industry workshops London and Jama Jurabaev did a super awesome presentation with 3D Coat and so I find myself trying to figure out how to use this new software. I love the fact that you can draw in 3D with 3DCoat. I think its the most awesome thing in the whole universe. But What I'm having issues with is importing an OBJ of a Daz model into 3DCoat. Whenever I do it, I get a hugeeeeeee lagg and my cores are going crazy at 100% but nothing happens.. it just kind of freezes. I'm just wondering if anyone has worked out how to get the Daz model into 3D Coat in a really basic way and if you wouldn't mind sharing your step by step process? I think it'd be a great help to all those who are newbies to 3D! Thanks! I'll be introducing myself in the intro thread soon
  6. Can be supported ? ty http://docs.daz3d.co...dson_spec/start DSON File Format Specification Format Goals Allow the transfer of intelligent 3D content and provide a format for exchange between applications that implement the DAZ Content Engine. Lightweight, easy to transfer, and provides a human-readable form. Enable a means of legal sharing of scenes by use of an asset referencing scheme rather than inline storage of all elements of a scene. Support per-asset addressing and a definition of assets that is granular enough to allow artists to contribute in a variety of disciplines. Allow quick determination of what assets a user needs to recreate any segment of a scene. Topics Format Description - Explains, in detail, the various parts needed and how they fit together Object Definitions - Provides an alphabetical listing of definitions for each data object type
