    Modelling 3DCoat, Render Cinema 4D
  2. I watched this video on youtube last night on modeling an automobile from scratch in 3DC. And IMHO it is the most useful video I've watched to date on 3DCoat when it comes to hard surfaces. Modeling a spaceship or raygun IMHO is not the same thing as modeling a car. And I'm not knocking other 3DC videos as they are many of fantastic and helpful ones on youtube. But so few of cars. Sadly the author of this video does not do audio, I suspect it is probably due to an English language issue...

    Retrowave

I've wanted to do some stylized retro sci-fi. After hours of listening to synthwave this is what came out!
  4. Inspired From the movie: ‘LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN’, I decided to go with the stretch look for vehicles, like NEMO’S CAR! so I did a sketch and started blocking out, shaping and sculpting my own ideas. I just learnt the 3d coat software 2 weeks ago. 4 days in and this is what I have so far. Got a ways to go so much to add! This software is amazing artists can make their ideas come to life! This is so much fun!
  5. I am an avid car enthusiast, especially antique, vintage and classic cars & trucks, as well as muscle cars of the 1960s, hot rods, rat rods and kustomized cars. In 1983 I restored a 1960 Corvette which I still own and take for pleasure drives & to car shows/cruise-ins. Just curious if anyone has modeled a car or truck (and not other vehicles like space ships, boats, airplanes). I've used Silo3D, Hexagon3D and Groboto3D to model various cars and hot rods. In similar threads at 3D Coat I've been told 3D Coat is really not suited to car modeling. However I've noticed some people have created some pretty amazing cars in ZBrush. This tutorial seems pretty simple in ZBrush However this ZBrush tutorial on a classic 1960's Ford Mustang GT500 is more along the lines of the cars I would love to model in 3D. When I get some downtime, I'll have to try something along these lines...
  6. I've been working on a car from Mad Max, the War Boys "Elvis". I've got quite a bit of a done already, and posting it on The Foundry forums, now that I'm using 3DC for some of the assets, here we are. I'll try to update this thread when I update the TF thread as well. All modeling done in Modo, except for the seats, which I sculpted in 3DC. Retopologized and baked the normal map in Modo. I'm pretty much done modeling the engine, the body and interior. I am now moving on to the .50 cal..
  7. Hi there! Starting my topic here. First - the sketch! Hope you like it Read this article if you didn't yet: http://www.creativeshrimp.com/steampunk-machine-blender-tutorial.html Good luck to everyone!

  9. Fake advertising for an outrider toy from the best TV show ever (Saber Rider ) Created completely in 3dCoat to learn the tool for my pipeline. Time around 2-3days. It is amazing fast!
  10. Hello all, let's see if I can finish on time. My concept attempts to combine several different vehicles into one ultimate steampunk machine. I will try to show you how I created a lot of the parts in 3D_Coat.
  11. Hi, there. I'm a little late to the party. Will post my progress here. After a lot of references , I decided to create some context to the piece. It's a racing, maybe inspired by wacky races or something like that. This is the first pass on the car: The design is not final though but pretty close.
  12. I do some stuff like spider or scorpion, just mindstorm in my head, many pieces

  14. I found it interesting to reproduce a very old vehicle, and to modify it to a steampunk . I really love modeling and I intend to model other old car. Thank you to this beautiful contest.

  16. A little bit late but i will try to participate in challenge. My work will be based on desert patrol vehicle
  17. Kinda late, didn't find out about the contest until just recently. Hopefully I'm not too late. First off my references:
  18. Hey guys, Here's my Steampunk inspired vehicle, I modeled everything using 3D Coat's Sculpt Room. Once the model was finished it was around 6-8 million poly. So I retopologized it in 3D Coat and managed to get it to about 39K poly and was really impressed. After which I textured it using the Paint Room and smart materials and rendered within the Render Room. Everything was done within 3D Coat. I'd wanted to try connecting a mix between a go-cart style unibody and a one wheeled motorcycle. Thanks for checking it out. :)
  19. Here are quick rough concepts sketches for the Steampunk Vehicle Challenge. Sketched on my iphone while commuting. Not locked down but searching for interesting shapes/designs to bring these ideas in 3d. I just began delving in 3d this year and found out about 3D Coat that I could sculpt and paint in the same package. This challenge is a best way I could do to try this awesome program, so far I'm liking sculpting in Voxels! Will practice more and will post some rough models base on these sketches. Stay tuned. Cheers! More a bit of the food truck. It's run by a fly chef that cooks food truck food...not sure what yet. May I ask fellow 3DCoat members what grub you think this guy will cook up. Thank you. John B.
