Greyed Out Materials

After using Materials successfully in this project, I now have the problem of the material being greyed out when selected. It appears faded in the Materials tab and nothing is visible in the Paint room except a faded scene with no material to be found.

I had the same problem but very seldom. A possible random bug...

I would suggest to delete the material (image) and then also delete the tga thumbnail associated with it outside of 3DCoat.

Close 3DCoat

Reopen 3DCoat and reload the material image into the materials palette.

That might fix your problem. It's been a long time but I think that is how I fixed mine whenever that problem appeared

Also it is alway good to mention what version you are using...

The problem disappeared because I had not started Leigh Bamforth's "Reference Image", which I use to align my model with the image in 3DC that I intend to use. After starting "Reference Image", the same problem emerged and when I exited RF, the problem also disappeared.
