Member Ruth Spacecookie Andrews Posted October 20, 2012 Member Share Posted October 20, 2012 Hello, one thing I've noticed is that since I've upgraded from edu to full professional, well, the texture size allowed on import of object hasn't had its restriction lifted. The maximum size of texture allowed is still the same as I was allowed under edu. I have a 1 gigabyte video card, (Ati 4650 HD), though I didn't uninstall 3Dc to go from edu to prof, I just uninstalled the edu license, then put in the new one from steam. What would be the recommended course of action please? Would it be to uninstall, then re-install and enter the new license, or is it likely to be something else that might be the source of this? Reputable Contributor AbnRanger Posted October 21, 2012 Reputable Contributor Share Posted October 21, 2012 Ooh, ok, ty I would try your first suggestion though. Make sure to backup any important files you think might get deleted.

Member Ruth Spacecookie Andrews Posted October 26, 2012 Author Member Share Posted October 26, 2012 Ok, will do. I was just waiting for a quiet day to deal with this. I'm going to go with uninstalling, resetting then reinstalling first. Then if that doesn't work, I thought I'd thrown my hands up and make 'Doaah!' type sounds for a while before contacting support
Advanced Member stusutcliffe Posted October 26, 2012 Advanced Member Share Posted October 26, 2012 If I post here again, maybe someone will spot the thread and help out.I think you should be ok though. But what do you mean by resetting? I saw in the "Help" tab you can uninstall the licence.Would you then uninstall the software....would you not lose your custom stuff...brushes ,shaders etc....AAh a thought just occured, all that stuff is in a seperate user folder, so perhaps they will stay....( I wish I knew what I was talking about!! ) Could some scientist explain the upgrade process please, maybe with a easy to follow check list? Member Ruth Spacecookie Andrews Posted November 22, 2012 Author Member Share Posted November 22, 2012 I'm really sorry, but I forgot about replying. I re-installed 3d coat, and that seems to have fixed it.
