Advanced Member michalis Posted December 18, 2012 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted December 18, 2012 @Tony Nemo No, but what you see is a subd model with normal maps baked on a specific subd level (retopo, baking in 3dc). You know me Tony. I can sculpt using any app you like. I just avoid 3dc as I'm not sure what will happen next. I need to have some more options. I don't like to face a dead end, you know. So, please try to ask the right questions, next time.
Contributor Tony Nemo Posted December 18, 2012 Contributor Report Share Posted December 18, 2012 Duh, thanks for the advice, Michalis! But I see in your elegant beard a use for Andrew's splendid new Spline tool (see example from hagenomyia in the Beta Testing thread). Advanced Member michalis Posted December 19, 2012 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted December 19, 2012 Splendid new spline tool. Possibly. Completely useless for me. I have a so so so different opinion on the use of the tools than devs and lot of 3dc fans have. I'm a zbrush , a sculptris, most of all, a blender fanboy, Sorry. Advanced Member michalis Posted April 30, 2013 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted April 30, 2013 However, A study on a famous sculpt. My version because a medusa is more a depressed angry woman, her hair become snakes somehow, not an almost child or something. A blender sculpt, cycles (new SSS is all about this test), vertexpainted in 3dcoat (patina). I started to retopo it but it will take some time and I become lazy LOL
Contributor Tony Nemo Posted April 30, 2013 Contributor Report Share Posted April 30, 2013 Depressed and angry is an excellent idea! Kudos!
Advanced Member Garagarape Posted April 30, 2013 Advanced Member Report Share Posted April 30, 2013 Wonderful shapes, marble feel and lighting!
Advanced Member michalis Posted May 1, 2013 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted May 1, 2013 Thanks tony nemo, garagarape. Retopology finished more easily than expected. Uvs now, which isn't easy, too many seams.
Advanced Member michalis Posted May 8, 2013 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted May 8, 2013 OK, another view, after retopology. And some tints.
Advanced Member Garagarape Posted May 8, 2013 Advanced Member Report Share Posted May 8, 2013 Awesome! I like the fact that you suggested the snakes more than sculpting them very clearly. It gives this sculpt some movement. Just as if hair was waving and turning to snakes. Terrible!
Advanced Member michalis Posted May 9, 2013 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted May 9, 2013 Thank you Garagarape. What really terrible was to decently UV unwrap these hair snakes.
Advanced Member alvordr Posted May 29, 2013 Advanced Member Report Share Posted May 29, 2013 I love the concept, but I would ease down on the eyebrow expression a little. For me, it's taking away from the total package.
