Hi. I'm not sure if this already exists, but I was making a chair with a seat cushion and pillows in 3D Coat and realized afterwards that I didn't create the cushion separate from the chair, as I did the pillows. I can go into another app and do this, but if there isn't already a way to do this in 3D Coat, can this functionality be considered, please?

Select the Split tool.

Then choose a selection method from the "E" panel:

Draw a circle around the area you want to split off from the rest.

Hit enter.

That piece will be split off and put into a new voxel layer in the Voxtree.

Some other cool tools to try out are the Copy tool, Hide tool, and the Voxlayer tool. They can all be used to split off difficult-to-reach parts of your mesh.

On the other hand, the Polygroup selection tools of Zbrush are amazing, and if something like those were added to 3D-Coat, it would be wonderful!
