Pix Jigsaw 29 Report post Posted December 31, 2012 Whole lot of Awesome in that picture. I especially like the creepy window shadows and the way he holds the delicate little bloom. What role did 3DC have in making that scene? What other software did you use?
stusutcliffe 136 Report post Posted January 1, 2013 Thanks. Everything was modeled and sculpted in 3DCoat and Carrara. Carrara was used for the render, the hair, the eyes, the flower a few bandages and the draping of the smock/dress.

AbnRanger 1,479 Report post Posted January 2, 2013 I liked the black and white....as that was what the original was in. So, very appropriate, IMHO.
The Candy-floss Kid 114 Report post Posted January 3, 2013 Lovely post Stu. Did you sculpt in 3DCoat and retopo the majority of the forms or are these triangulated exports? Happy New Year Sir.
Garagarape 412 Report post Posted January 3, 2013 Very nice characters lighting and composition! I like the B&W pic the most.
stusutcliffe 136 Report post Posted January 3, 2013 Thanks guys! Yes every thing was retopologised. I find it quite relaxing ........for the first 30 minutes or so............ The bandages with undercuts were just modeled in Carrara in about ten minutes. Though the safety pin....( look closely!) was sculpted because I thought I could do it quicker that way. I looked into Vertex Painting, but unfortunately Carrara does not support it, it would save so much time.
stusutcliffe 136 Report post Posted January 29, 2013 Thought I would have another go at this one. I just bought ArtRage at the weekend so I can do "painterly" backgrounds.

Tony Nemo 393 Report post Posted March 2, 2013 Great! Though she does look a little surprised to find something or someone in her presence. Can you continue looking? There must be a copy wherein she is in a pose that a sitter is more apt to display for the photografer.
