Advanced Member alvordr Posted January 3, 2013 Advanced Member Report Share Posted January 3, 2013 OK folks. I've got a problem I can't seem to repair, with close holes, fill, smooth or otherwise. I created this part of my sculpt in the Voxel room using Curves. However, the resulting joint, here got all ripped up upon committing the curves. I can't fix it. Any advice? Advanced Member alvordr Posted January 3, 2013 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted January 3, 2013 I'm getting the sense that there's a problem with the Curves tool. My mesh shouldn't have hidden/missing faces either. I can't repair this.
Reputable Contributor AbnRanger Posted January 4, 2013 Reputable Contributor Report Share Posted January 4, 2013 The first one seems like there is not enough resolution on the layer you applied it to. The other one...that's odd. In the past, I've had something like that once in a while, and after closing the app and re-opening it, this strange behavior seems to go away. In Live Clay, one of the tools is CLOSE HOLES. Try that, and you could hit the ENTER key to remesh the object (like it does in voxels). Also, I would try using Voxel Mode when using curves. It's more flexible and forgiving than surface mode, for creating new objects and building them up to the point where you are ready to start adding some detail. With that said, perhaps it might help opening a new Mantis report, so Andrew can have a look at it and see if it's something that needs to be fixed.
