Advanced Member alvordr Posted February 5, 2013 Advanced Member Report Share Posted February 5, 2013 Hey, all. I saw 3 posts with this shader (Marupura San Shader) being used and would love to know where to get it. I can't find it anywhere.

Advanced Member alvordr Posted February 6, 2013 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted February 6, 2013 OK, so that shader is a blender shader. Does that mean the renders I saw in the sketchbooks here weren't done in 3DC?
Carlosan
is not in the shader library ? hhh... im attaching the pack so MaruP_SSS.3dcpack
Contributor Tony Nemo Posted February 6, 2013 Contributor Report Share Posted February 6, 2013 I don't see any way to add it to the shaders already available in the voxel room . There is no "New" icon.
Advanced Member alvordr Posted February 6, 2013 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted February 6, 2013 Thanks, Carlosa. I'll have to try that out. Tony, I also have had problems creating new shaders. I have the "new" button, but the shaders just end up black.
Reputable Contributor digman Posted February 6, 2013 Reputable Contributor Report Share Posted February 6, 2013 @ Tony, under the file menu, choose Install Extension, Navigate to the MaruP_SSS.3dcpack. Select the file and 3DCoat will automatically install the shader for you. Close and reopen 3DCoat and they will be in your shader list. @ alvordr, One way to create your own shader is right click on one of the stone shaders, then construct new shader base on the shader parameters. You can supply your own texture, normal map and other settings. The stone shader is great as base shader in creating a large number of shaders... Of course you are not limited to the stone shader. You give your shader it's own name and it will be place in your shader list. It does not overwrite the stone shader. If you are doing this already and are getting a black shader, you can try and refresh the shader by right clicking on the shader and choose to refresh this preview... This might or might not be the solution...
Advanced Member alvordr Posted February 6, 2013 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted February 6, 2013 I don't get all of those options. I choose Construct New Shader and it gives me less options. I'm not where I can screen shot it, but I'll do this later today, so you can see. I'm sure it's something I've done or not done. Reputable Contributor digman Posted February 6, 2013 Reputable Contributor Report Share Posted February 6, 2013 I forgot to mention make sure you click LMB on the stone shader first and then click RMB, otherwise it will bring up the options for the currently selected shader plus I am curious to see your screen shot of the problem... Advanced Member alvordr Posted February 6, 2013 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted February 6, 2013 OK, so I get it. Your options presented when constructing a new shader are dependent on which one you right click on to construct a new shader. This is counter-intuitive, but I get it now.
