Hi there !

This is my new work "Earth Dragon".

Maybe Vox Sculpt, Retopo, Paint in 3D-Coat, and Render in UDK.

I like snake brush drawing, but instead retopology is very hard.....

Thanks. :)

Painted color in Photoshop because I'm thinking about dragon's color.

After that Head parts Retopo and Painted in 3D-Coat, and rendered in UDK.

That's an interesting and original approach. What were you doing with the orange paint there?

I take it those snake tool sketches were made with the spline tool? How did you fill in those snake voxel sketches?

Thank you for your comment. :)

I've mainly drawn with snake brush in the free hand.

I selected from E-Pane menu "affects draw depth" and snake brush's tool option is "Tube / Hemisphere"

If filling space of the many thickness, I select the "Grow or Clay Brush" + "Paint with drawn contour" in E-Pane menu or simply fill by snake brush.

If don't need a thickness, I select the "Fill Brush" + "Paint with drawn contour" in E-Pane menu.

I like working with sphere snake brush tool in voxel mode too, reminds me of the old days with amapi and laying out a spline cage before getting into the actual polygon creation :)

It's really fun to work like that but it takes and awful lot of time, it's nice to see someone using that technic and getting good results.

Thank you for your warm comment !

3D-Coat is very interesting that can drawn in many unique way. :)

And This is my new images.

I tried using "Pose" for adjust the arm angle.

Bend from masked by "Select with pen" is it useful.

And if combined with E-Pane "Paint with drawn contour", I was able more easily fill bend mask.

Oh, I have a small question.

I found the "Save selection" in the Pose Tool Options,

I have tried using it immediately but an error will be displayed.

"Mesh structure was changed and stored selection can't be applied to the mesh."

.....What I wrong ?

I don't edit anything while select the Save selection > Clear selection > Load selection.

Are your running the latest beta ? I just tried (without editing anything) and it worked. You need to not touch anything that modify the topology (no removestretching tool, no liveclay tool).

Thank you for your advise !

I've tested with a simple model in 3.7.18F, And I was able to get a good result in this version.

I will continue to work back to 3.7.18F.

Thanks.

Unless you want to stick with 3.x cycle I suggest you get the v4 beta, 12b is particularly fast (and seems somewhat reliable sculpting-wise) which would help you with surface sculpting. Those betas are updated quite often and you can have both 3x and 4x installed on your machine without any issue.

[Edit] I'm confused looking at your sig you already know about v4...

Hi, This is my new images.

3D-Coat is very slowly because I started whole body modeling.

So I was reduced to 30 ~ 40% resolution using the Resample, It is very usefull. :)

Earth Dragon's back is represents the ice ages and arms are forest.

Hi, I started Retopology in 3D-Coat.

I hate retopo Oh Yeah ;)

I running "Fill voids" in Vox Room before Retopology,

I noticed It prevent snapping to the inside cavity for Retopo tool.

After quickly whole body retopology by "Strokes", I created the small details by mainly "Quads" and "Add / Split".

I want to escape from Retopo this weekend and start painting soon.

Retopo iinoni! Retopo daisuki. Retopo wo warukuiwanaide! :)

Nice result on the earth dragon. The head remembers me a bit of "Panzer Dragon".

Can't wait to see the colouring.

Hi, I finished final sculpt and retopo in 3D-Coat today.

My Battle in Retopo-Room is over here. :)

This is some new images.

It is simply flat color map + AO map + Normal map rendering.

It does not have crystals on back + arm's tree + some textures yet.
