Advanced Member popwfx Posted March 4, 2013 Advanced Member Report Share Posted March 4, 2013 Texture baking tool isn't working, yo! Can anyone help me figure out how to get this to work? The details are not showing up no matter what scan levels I choose.
Reputable Contributor digman Posted March 4, 2013 Reputable Contributor Report Share Posted March 4, 2013 I am only guessing here as I have not asked Andrew directly but I think The Texture Baking Tool is scanning the entire model at one time regardless of uv sets and so you get the errors you are seeing. It is not scanning one uv set and it's associated parts of the model at a time while hiding the other uv sets and model parts associated with them. We had similar problems till we got named correspondence for the retopo room scanning. Areas would be occluded and bake just with a white color. Of course in the retopo room it is scanning by layers and not uv sets but the principle is the same. The above is just a possible reason for your problems... I also sent you a pm about this topic... Advanced Member popwfx Posted March 5, 2013 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted March 5, 2013 Unfortunately, I also tried this with just 1 UV set for the shoes and I still get the same problems. It won't bake the laces or tongue of the shoe I just get weird errors like that.... ?

Reputable Contributor digman Posted March 5, 2013 Reputable Contributor Report Share Posted March 5, 2013 Sorry, I did not explain that my answer was not a possible solution. The texture baking tool regardless of what you are hiding or not hiding still might be scanning the entire model. So you might be only saying to bake one uv set but if the Texture baking tool is not hiding the other uv sets and associated mesh, then can problems appear. Again, I am only guessing. This is something that Andrew will need to look deeply into...

Advanced Member popwfx Posted March 17, 2013 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted March 17, 2013 This is solved thanks to Beta 13A. thanks! There might be a few slight issues with spec maps not baking perfectly, but I will investigate and open a new thread or mantis if I can reproduce it.
