Normalize Displacement Map

For some reason, when I export a normalized displacement map, it isn't being normalized.

As I have been developing the map, I've tested a few iterations, and at some point, 3dc stopped normalizing it correctly. Any idea what I might've done to the texture to cause this problem?

When exporting, 3dc reports a depth. I don't know what it means, but in the file which works correctly, the depth is between 3-4, in the file that doesn't work correctly, its 54. NPerhaps it points to the source of the problem?

Any help will be appreciated.
