Member shokan Posted August 10, 2008 Member Report Share Posted August 10, 2008 Does anyone have actual experience successfully importing a detailed and painted model from 3D-Coat into an e-on Vue landscape? If so, any pointers? I have neither program but I have an artistic obsession to populate a vast Vue-like scene with hi-poly count textured/painted people and objects from a program such as 3D-Coat. In the case of another well-known sculpting app and exporting to Vue, there are reports only of Vue crashing all over the place. I was wondering if 3D-Coat would be more suitable. Thanks. Here are the Vue 6 Pro Import/Export formats: http://www.e-onsoftware.com/products/vue/v..._studio/?page=6 Import/Export * Static Poser 4, 5 & 6 scene import. * Support for Poser 5 & 6 dynamic clothes and hair. * Animated Poser 4, 5 & 6 scene import. * Compatible with Cornucopia3D cost-effective copy-protected content. * NEW! Import options dialog to control imported object position and sizing. * NEW! When loading objects, option to automatically drop them to the ground. * NEW! 2D Import: BMP, BUM, DEM, GIF, HDR, Jpeg, Pict, PNG, TGA, Tiff. * NEW! Vector data import: Postscript and Illustrator up to 3.2. * Textured model imports as: 3DS, COB, DEM, DXF, LWO, OBJ, PZ3, PZZ, RAW, SHD. * 2D Export: Tiff, TGA, Pict, BMP, GIF, Jpeg, PNG, BUM, DEM. * Object exports: Only terrains, with textures. * NEW! Animation export: QT MOV, QTVR, AVI, Mpeg 1 & 2, independent frames. * Automatic re-importing of externally modified texture maps and 3D objects. Now just match those with the ones that 3D Coat uses for Import/Export.
Solution philnolan3d Posted August 11, 2008 Solution Report Share Posted August 11, 2008 I have Vue 6 xStream (LightWave version). I don't see how it would be a problem exporting as LWO, into Vue.
