philnolan3d
I understand that many of 3DCs users do not speak English natively, but it would be really great to see some sculpting tutorials in real video with the instructor talking, not Wink. Wink is OK, but it's rather limiting for this sort of tutorial. Larry "Spline God" Schultz ( http://www.3dtrainingonline.com/ ) is a big fan of 3D Coat, perhaps he would be interested. I agree 100%.... We need more video tutorials with English dialogue... Too bad Geekatplay http://www.geekatplay.com wouldn't do some tutorials. They have great tutorials on Vue and Hexagon.... Advanced Member Digital777 Posted February 2, 2009 Advanced Member Report Share Posted February 2, 2009 Yeah i definately agree, i don't really understand the wink tutorials in terms of it does not explain what a label does unless it's showing you steps with a instructor talking it would let you get a basic idea of what the things actually do rather than click this then click that etc. They are ok as said but not the best tutorials imo so i would also like some of these type of tutorial

philnolan3d
Hi folks! Can you recommend a good free video capture program??? For short and quick videos with free onoline hosting try: http://www.jingproject.com/ For longer videos with more options and features try: http://camstudio.org/ Both are free. I've also heard good things about this one, but never tried it myself. A lot of people using for recording game play. http://www.fraps.com/

philnolan3d
They are the "video" tutorials here, which start out saying "Created using Wink": http://3d-coat.com/video_tutorial.html
Member Silentman Posted May 13, 2009 Member Report Share Posted May 13, 2009 I've been watching Geek@play tut's to try and get an understanding of what to do with different tools, without them i'd be lost not having any prior experience with sculpting at all. I would really like to see some fresh tutorials, that are well put together, concise and to the point explaining all the tools in a natural workflow. So something like geek@play but more concise, maybe pick a smaller project to work with so it doesn't take 8 video's to get through just the sculpting process, i don't mean to be critical, i really appreciate what Geek@Play do for the 3d community and have learnt a lot from their tutorials. I would just like to see something concise is all, a bit less time consuming so i can get on with the process fully loaded with the information about the tools i need to really do a good job, the contextual info that comes with the tools is great, but you sort of need to know a little about this style of 3d pixel manipulation to understand what they mean. Good tutorials are at the heart of all good programs...
