[Solved] Left Toolbar - Icons/Text and Size

Just two quick question - couldn't find an easy way to toggle between

text and pure graphic icons in V4.

Another thing is that I somehow changed the size of the left toolbar,

so now it has 3 icons in a column - but again, I could not find a

handle to change this. On the right side it is very easy to do so...

These question might sound a bit naive, but even though the UI

gets better and better it is still not "standard"... but thanks for

developing it so continuously!

He means the icon in said toolbar that looks like a T.

And it sucks because I'm sure you'd not have asked this question if the options were like that:

Am I right ?

This is just sad (don't take it for you rs3d, you're not responsible), but those questions keep poping up on the boards because the UI is counter intuitive in some areas...

Thanks BeatKitano (great filmmaker!) for pointing - since next to the "T" is the brush line style

I thought this is a Text tool (like in the Adobe world) ;)

I'm sorry for these kind of posts, but even though I'm doing 3d graphics for more than 20 years

this UI isn't very intuitive - I would expect such options in the Preferences, at least in addition to

the T icon...

Hehe, yes the UI is in DIRE need of standardization...

We tried to push in that direction with a few others, but alas what you see now is the best we could do given the time Andrew devoted to this "overhaul"...

About preferences, some mockups were done in that regard:

You can't get this menu, this was the point of all the mockups: get things sorted out and reorganized... didn't happen. So yeah, if you would like things like that, definitely vote for the ui change...

Andrew has everything to make it happen already...

Some find the UI easier than others. I learned 3DC in a matter of a few weeks enough to tweak the UI to my liking, whereas other programs other people like for this kind of thing, I don't always find very intuitive. This is why we're here in the forums to help. Give it some time.
